Beverly Hills 90210 Spin-off Coming to the CW Network this Fall

Beverly Hills 90210 is coming back to television this fall. Well not actually Beverly Hills 90210. The show will be called "90210". The show will be a new up to date spin-off airing this fall on the CW network instead of the Fox Network. There will be new characters in the main roles. The show will not be about the Walsh family but the foundation of the show will have similarities as well as some twists and turns.

The family comes from the Midwest to California and will find things in California are a little different. The children are not twins, the daughter is a biological daughter and the son is an adopted African - American, played by Shenae Grimes and Tristan Wilds. The Mom will be played by Lori Loughlin and the role of Dad will be played by Rob Estes. The parents in 90210 will be much more active outside of the home then the Walsh parents were.

The original show aired from October 4th 1990 to May of 2000 and the executive producer was the late Aaron Spelling. The show was extremely popular among viewers. I watched this show from the first episode until the last episode 10 years later. I remember feeling a piece of my life was missing when the show was no longer on. I spent 10 years never missing a single episode as did many fans of Beverly Hills 90210. So when I heard the news that the show was coming back for a spin-off my interest was peaked.

I am sure all fans of the series will agree with me that the show would just not be 90210 without at least some of the original cast returning. Thankfully I have found that some are already scheduled to join the new cast and more may be coming on board.

Tori Spelling and Jeanie Garth are returning. Tori Spelling who played Donna Martin will reprise her role and own a boutique in Beverly Hills. Jeanie Garth will also reprise her role of Kelly Taylor. Ian Ziering is interested in coming and is in talks. This is reported at soapnet.com. At the end of the series Donna Martin and David Silver played by Brian Austin Green were married and Kelly Taylor and Dylan McKay played by Luke Perry were back together so hopefully these characters will return as well. SoapNet says Jeanie Garth and Tori Spelling are hoping to talk the rest of the cast from Beverly Hills 90210 into coming to 90210. I for one am hoping they succeed and we see them all return.

Hopefully 90210 will be as well written, directed and acted as was Beverly Hills 90210. I also hope the show has as much success and viewer loyalty as its predecessor did. Bringing back some if not the entire original cast will certainly help with the success of the show. I am sure the new actors/actresses that are making up the cast for 90210 will bring a great and new twist to the zip code 90210.

I loved the original series when it was on, but that was when I was in the age range for this type of show. I'm not sure if I would really get into the new one, but I will give it the benefit of the doubt and check out the first episode. Great article!
