Beware of falling buildings!
Neighborhood: Downtown Brooklyn ( Brooklyn Bridge Park Area )
New York, NY 11201
United States of America
If you're making your way on foot down Old Fulton Street, toward the water, just before you get to the Brooklyn Ice Cream Factory that's right on the river, you may want to make sure you're not walking in front of three particular buildings: 11, 13 and 15 Old Fulton Street.

Whatever the reason, the owners have failed to maintain the buildings and at this point their structure stability is affected. Small and even a large part of the buildings may fall on you. As many as 14 complaints are on file with the Department of Buildings about these three attached buildings, many of them priority "A" complaints: Debris falling or in danger of falling ( A ), excessive debris ( B ), failure to maintain ( C ) , building shaking ( A ), structure stability affected ( A ), vibrating ( A ), no certificate of occupancy or an illegal or contrary to CO ( C ), facade defective or cracking ( A ), wall or retaining wall bulged or cracked ( B ). ( See NYC Dept. of Buildings, Complaints by Address )

You may remember the building that collapsed last year in Fort Greene, on Myrtle Avenue, injuring several people, and fortunately not killing anyone, although so much of the building came down, quite a few people could have been easily killed. The owners need to take a look at this picture of that nearby recently collapsed building, which collapsed despite showing less visible signs of impending failure than the current physical signs on the Old Fulton buildings.
