Beware of Freeway Ford of Denver

I recently bought a car from Freeway Ford in Denver Colorado and actually wrote an article about how great they were. I have since changed my mind and I will tell you why. When I first bought the car I had a trade in and bought a used car. At the time everything went really well and I thought there would be no further details to hammer out with them. That's not the way it happened.

As I said I traded in a car and bought a used truck, which I love very much. The days kept passing and I never got anything telling me where to make the car payments which concerned me but I didn't really take any action right away because I figured they would take care of it and everything would be fine. Well a month passed and I couldn't figure out why I had not received any payment information. I called numerous times trying to get answers and they kept telling me that everything would be fine. It turns out that they never turned in the paperwork for the payment to the credit union which they use. I was about to be late on my first car payment and still had no information about where to pay for the car. I kept calling and calling never getting any other answer than "it is taken care of". I finally found out what the name of the credit union was and started calling them. They knew nothing and had no record of me or my vehicle. It was very frustrating.

Freeway Ford also failed to pay off the loan on my trade in, I have a contract stating that they will pay off the loan and so I figured they just hadn't sent the check yet. I wasn't concerned until I got a bill from my loan provider saying I was late on my payment, which also included some late fees. I called Freeway Ford and they said that they had sent the check. I started getting calls from bill collectors on my loan from my trade in and finally decided to take further action. I e-mailed the sales manager of Freeway Ford and told him I was getting my lawyer involved (I don't have a lawyer) and he jumped to my aid as if I was his best customer. It turns out that they never sent the check and completely forgot about it. I was very upset because I now have marks on my credit from this and I did nothing wrong.

Freeway Ford put me through the ringer on this and really did a bad thing here. I don't understand how a company can treat people like this and get away with it, hopefully this will help. I hope if you choose to do business with Freeway Ford that you really dot your "i's" and cross your "t's". They were really great to deal with up front and then it all went down hill from there.

I would recommend not using Freeway Ford for your next car purchase just because they really could have done some damage to my credit history and I don't want them to do the same to anyone else.
