Beware of Keylogger

Keyloggers as it sounds "key" and "logger" is a keyboard user's input recorder. For your information, the input devices are device such as keyboard, mouse, touchpad, microphone, and scanner and so on. The keylogger itself is actually software, but it can be hardware type. In the past, a type of special key logging keyboards has been reported.

The keylogger software will records the input from device which is usually from keyboard input and stores them to a file (text or log file) to be read by the author or admin of the keylogging program. In most of the cases, the program's admin is also the installer of the program on a computer, and is not exactly the owner of the system.

Input recorders and keyloggers are used in employee monitoring at workplace, but parents may also use/implement the method to monitor their child's activity with the Internet or other online resources. Keyloggers will play an important role in the future of law enforcement and anti-terrorism activities/tasks if these programs can be secretly installed on a suspect's computer or system.

The software like Keyloggers is also disreputable for being a tool of illegal (criminal) computer hackers, also known as "crackers." This type of hackers uses the keylogging tools for secretly stealing personal login information from unsuspecting computer owners in order to covering up their own criminal in hacking valuable information. If the data can be inserted, then the cracker can read it with keylogger software to discover the bank account details such as Personal Identification Number (PIN), verification number and security questions, etc.

For 'Screen Scraper', it's a form of keylogger software which the computer is made to catch a snapshot (screen capture) photograph of the screen display in order to get the passwords and profile access data to be used by the admin of the program. It is actually simpler than it sounds - the program's admin simply need to view the screen captured and read the private information from the screen images taken. The screen scrapers are useful for defeating other anti spyware measures being executed by a computer owner, as example, the on-screen keyboard in which is mouse-operated selects the data to be input. The on-screen keyboard was actually developed as an anti keylogging measurement as well as a replacement tool for the physical or normal keyboards.
