Beyonce Could Have Hepatitis

An Observation on the Effects of Beyonce's Health Scare

Nicole A.
A recent entertainment news show reported that R&B Singer Beyonce could have been exposed to the Hepatitis A virus. She attended the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue party where Wolfgang Puck Catering provided food preparation services. One of Wolfgang Puck's employees has been diagnosed with Hepatitis A, which attacks the liver and can cause fever and diarrhea. One alarming fact is that Beyonce is not the only one who has been exposed to Hepatitis at the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue Party. However, she seems to be the only person that the media is concerned with.

The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health has stated that anyone who ate raw food was urged to receive a preventative shot for Hepatitis A. Sports Illustrated Magazine is a very popular publication. There were surely hundreds of guests who attended this affair. The Hepatitis scare puts many people at risk and should cause much concern about the preparation tactics of Wolfgang Puck catering. Much like Sports Illustrated, this catering company is all the rage among the rich and famous crowd.

Incidents like the Hepatitis exposure at the Sports Illustrated party makes one question how safe it is to hire outside catering. It is obvious that there were no preventative measures done while selecting the staff members to cater the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue party. Catering is a profitable industry that serves many events including weddings, promotional parties and business affairs. I have to wonder how many incidents similar to the Wolfgang Puck story are going on under the radar. It is important for catering companies to take the necessary steps to ensure that they do not contaminate their client's food with bacteria or contagious viruses.

Those who provide catering services like Wolfgang Puck should know the health status of their team. This would help managers to decide if staff members are able to do their job without affecting the health of other citizens. If Wolfgang Puck Catering knew that one of the employees had Hepatitis A and allowed that individual to continue working, there is a problem. Taking their status in the industry into account, it may be safe to believe that they were unaware of the diagnosis prior to providing catering services for clients such as Sports Illustrated Magazine. The quality of acclaimed catering services is usually grand. However, the health of our citizens must be held at a higher level of concern.
