Beyonce Knowles: What Her Songs Meant in My Life

Candice
Beyonce Knowles, undoubtedly, is a very talented young woman, whose success has been rising steadily. Her songs are known worldwide, but she's best known for her performances. She really puts her all into her performances, doing dance moves that I can only dream about doing. Most of her songs, I can relate to, but there are some songs that are, in my opinion, her best songs to date.

Bills, Bills, Bills: I was 19 years old and in college. They weren't too much younger than I was, but for some reason, I liked this song. I really didn't have any bills (what 19 year old does?) and I didn't have a boyfriend at the time, so this song I really couldn't relate to, but I caught myself singing this song everywhere I went. This song grew on me to become one of my favorite songs that Beyonce sung.

Say My Name: When this song came out, I was 20 and going through my first college breakup. I definitely could relate to this song because the boy I was going out with was trying to play games with me. Nothing like an empowering song to get you through a bad breakup.

Emotions & Brown Eyes: I just really liked how these songs were sung. I really felt the emotion with these songs not to mention just the talent behind the voices alone.

After All Is Said and Done: At first, I didn't even know that Beyonce was the woman's voice singing in this duet. I had the Best Man's soundtrack for a while before I even looked at the back of the CD case. I knew Beyonce could sing, but up to this point, she was singing with her group, Destiny's Child. This song here really showed her range of voice and it definitely ramped up my view of her talent.

Speechless: It was definitely her voice that made this song one of my favorites by her. She really, REALLY, showed her talent in this song, especially in how the song ended. I never knew she could reach that high note.

The Closer I Get To You: The duet she sung with Luther Vandross, in my opinion, was timeless. I absolutely love Luther Vandross and I tend to forget whomever he duets with when he sings, but Beyonce was unforgettable. The two of them singing this song made it one of my favorites.

Irreplaceable: This song and video did it for me. The way she sung the song and the way she acted in this video really made it memorable. I listen to this song when my husband really makes me mad. I really love my husband, but he can really work the nerves sometimes.

Listen: This song is my favorite by her. I didn't care for the video, but the scene in Dreamgirls with her singing this song was classic. You could really tell the message she was trying to portray to Jamie Foxx.

Single Ladies (Put a Ring On It): Absolutely her best video ever! This song was okay, but her dance moves in here was something else! The fact that each dance step was unique, never repeated, makes this video one of her best. I tried to do this dance for my husband for our anniversary....suffice it to say, I didn't do it quite like Beyonce.

Beyonce Knowles is one of my favorite performers and will continue to be. Her talent is natural and refreshing, and I wish her the best in her career. She is a talented, vivacious young woman whose songs have been hits for a long time. Her songs have definitely impacted my life on some level for years and will continue to do so. Do your thing, Beyonce!
