Beyonce Refuses to Rush Jay-Z into Marriage and Fatherhood

Beyonce Talks About Marriage, Motherhood and Her Controversial Diet

In the January 2007 issue of InStyle, Beyonce answers questions about her love life with Jay-Z and her controversial eating habits. The star of the much-buzzed-about Dreamgirls movie set the search engines on fire when Beyonce mentioned on Oprah that she used the Master Cleanser diet fast to help her shed excess weight and attain the size she felt was right for her character.

But now Beyonce has a new love: and it's not another man. It's something called Soy Dream ice cream sandwiches. When asked about the weirdest thing in her refrigerator, Beyonce admitted: "These little Soy Dream ice-cream sandwiches," saying that the Soy Dream ice-cream sandwiches were "so good, I eat one every night."

Critics of Beyonce's diet fast may be delighted that Beyonce has turned to the Soy Dream ice-cream sandwiches, which can be tracked down by using TasteTheDream.com's store locator for a nearby health-food store that carries the sweet treats.

"I don't recommend quick fixes to anyone," Beyonce said of her two week Master Cleanser fast, which Beyonce told InStyle she undertook to "get the toxins out of my system, because I was eating a lot of bad food -- French fries, messy snacks."

Beyonce also toned up with a vigorous workout that included sprinting up 50 flights of stairs daily, cardio and light weight sessions five days per week that lasted an hour-and-a-half.

"I could fit into dresses I could never wear before," Beyonce told the fashion magazine, calling her slim and svelte new frame "fun for about a month," that is, until men began to notice her disappearing figure. "But then guys started saying, 'Where you at? That's not Beyonce!'" the star admitted, saying even she didn't like herself looking too thin.

"And they were right," Beyonce said. "I saw pictures and didn't like the way I looked. I couldn't wait to eat and put some weight back on."

Like multitudes of other women, Beyonce has her good days and bad days over body image. Some days she hates her hips, she said. Other days she feels good about herself. "My shape is my shape," Beyonce relented. "You just have to know what looks good on your body. I sure had to learn."

Marriage and motherhood are two other issues that aren't as certain for Beyonce, who has been dating super-mogul Jay-Z. When InStyle showed Beyonce a wedding photo to address the constant rumors of Beyonce and Jay-Z tying the knot, Beyonce's answers were telling.

"It looks like a nice wedding - and very expensive," Beyonce said about the wedding photo. "Unfortunately, it's not true."

Though the Irreplaceable singer said she never dreamt of big weddings, she did say that she may marry her "man" at an island or church some day, adding, "I have no idea."

But Beyonce's last quote provided the most insight and wisdom and perhaps sadness about who might have the coldest marital feet in the relationship: "You can't rush a man into anything -- whether it's a relationship, marriage or having children. When he's ready he'll let you know."
