A universal desire for love
Crying out beyond the close doors of society
I never had to cross a picket line
But securing my civil rights has always been a concern of mine
I have often wondered where the line between defining race and just being human lies
As I look at the pain of the past in my elder's eyes
I see the struggle for equality still lingers inside their minds
It's a new day and history is turning its page
The beginning of the emancipation from disharmony is set to begin
It's time to thoroughly examine the world's separation from within
The truth must now be a friend
Because stereotypes are no longer a cause to defend
America has spoken and voted for change
There is a new president but a world crisis to solve
So everyone must be involved if there is to be justice for all
There is no way to escape the effects of what's already been done
So it's time to handle executive business and tackle the most pressing issues
A weakening economy does not attach itself to a single face
The reality is America's problems are affecting the masses
Regardless of race

Well spoken! Although we are on the cusp of a new era in the United States, it still seems that the nation's past still clouds our path to a prosperous future. I feel your sentiments and hope that we can make this revolution in politics turn into the evolution of our nation.
