I am done,
I'm done asking why.
why you can't understand,
Or be the kind of HU-MAN
who acts on what you say you BELIEVE IN,
Why you feel no need to be the ethical equivalent
of what you expect with such shameless greed,
Why you always seem to have
a secret stash of unprovoked audacity,

I am done asking why,
Where a swollen food tube like you
even gets the nerve to cry.
With all you've done to be cruel,
to devastate those who have trusted,
even babies who needed you,

I had to SLEEP with your dirty secrets, fool.
I know your lies;
I know how you struck the elders
and locked them outside,
I asked God, "Why did it have to be ME
to have a hand without trying
in this defeat?"

But I no longer ask why.
Why it still hurts me that I have hurt you,
Why it's taken so long for me to move on,
to forgive myself for not knowing
and not doing better when I knew,
For dumping love in a bottomless pit.
I have always been complete
with or without you, so I quit.
I am blessed to be left alone in this wilderness,
Free of your incessant negativity,
of your yammering preacher hole
gaping wide open to hide your selective memory,
I am FREE of the lack in your soul.
Gone from my auditory reach
are the blubbering phrases and praises you sing and screech
in your 'somebody done me wrong' song,

A change has come, my sista -
You, a so called "BFF" whose pride is too wide
to pray and notice
the dry icepacks of bad attitude
you've got piled upon those bulldog shoulders,
The only answers I wait for NOW,
are when God's mercy will shut you up
so we can all move on with life, somehow.
