When you enter Biba's Italian Restaurant you feel as though you just entered a neighborhood pub as they have a large bar at the entrance of the establishment. Once you see the dining section you'll notice all the Sports and Americana décor on the walls. There are colorful jerseys lining the walls from some of your favorite football, baseball and hockey teams. The ceiling is rather playful as it's painted in black and white and looks like a very large checkerboard. The booths are large and comfortable and the restaurant is packed with plenty of tables and chairs.
Although I loved the pizza at Biba's Italian Restaurant I hadn't tried any of their signature Italian dishes until recently. There were so many to choose from on the menu that I decided to go for a dish I was very familiar with and that was Baked Ziti. Biba's offers the regular Baked Ziti or the Baked Ziti Sicilian style. I decided to try the Sicilian Style Ziti which is baked ziti pasta with fresh eggplant, mushrooms, and ground beef with Biba's zesty marinara sauce. This dish is so good and plentiful that it took me 2 days to eat it all. If you love baked Ziti, you'll LOVE this dish! Although the Ziti was my favorite, when I tried the Ravioli, it came in at a close second. The ravioli is made with ricotta cheese, wonderful herbs and spices with tomato sauce. You can choose to have the ravioli with or without meat. I typically have it without the meat and it is so rich and delicious!
If you are more of a meat lover, don't worry, Biba's Italian Restaurant has got something for you. They offer Lasagna layered with their homemade meat sauce, ricotta cheese and covered with melted mozzarella cheese and their special sauce. This dish is good and offers enough for two to share. Biba's has Blackened Chicken dish to die for! This dish is made with tender boneless chicken breast and cooked in a Cajun cream sauce with artichokes and mushrooms poured over their penne pasta. If that doesn't do it for your taste buds, then perhaps you'd like to try their Veal Francesca. This dish consists of egg battered veal cutlets sauteed with lemon butter and white wine. Can you say yum?! Of course Biba's Italian Restaurant has some of the best dessert around. My favorite would have to be the layered chocolate cake. It's is so rich that it should come with a sugar warning!
Biba's Italian Restaurant is located inside the Publix Shopping Center at the corner of Sugarloaf and Old Norcross Road at 4850 Sugarloaf Parkway in Lawrenceville, Georgia 30043. Biba's offers lunch and dinner and is open 7 days a week. Please see location and times on line at www.bibasitalian.com or give them a call today at 770-277-3666 for reservations. The bottom line: Excellent Italian cuisine. Lunch prices range from $5.00 to $800.00 and Dinner from $8.00 to $15.00.
