The following compilation provides a biblical concept of the heart. Feel free to use the list for personal use or group lesson material. Please keep in mind that the verses are taken out of the original context. In order to gain a better understanding of the intended meaning I would encourage you to study each passage thoroughly. A careful systematic study ensures accurate interpretation of the biblical text.

1 Samuel 16:7
But the LORD said to Samuel, "Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The LORD does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart."

1 Kings 11:4
As Solomon grew old, his wives turned his heart after other gods, and his heart was not fully devoted to the LORD his God, as the heart of David his father had been.

1 Kings 15:3
He committed all the sins his father had done before him; his heart was not fully devoted to the LORD his God, as the heart of David his forefather had been.

1 Chronicles 29:17
I know, my God, that you test the heart and are pleased with integrity. All these things have I given willingly and with honest intent. And now I have seen with joy how willingly your people who are here have given to you.

Job 38:36
Who endowed the heart with wisdom or gave understanding to the mind?

Psalm 19:8

Ephesians 3:17
