Ruth 1:12-13
Return home, my daughters; I am too old to have another husband. Even if I thought there was still hope for me-even if I had a husband tonight and then gave birth to sons- would you wait until they grew up? Would you remain unmarried for them? No, my daughters. It is more bitter for me than for you, because the LORD's hand has gone out against me!"

Ruth 1:20
"Don't call me Naomi," she told them. "Call me Mara, because the Almighty has made my life very bitter.

1 Samuel 1:10
In bitterness of soul Hannah wept much and prayed to the LORD.

Deuteronomy 29:18
Make sure there is no man or woman, clan or tribe among you today whose heart turns away from the LORD our God to go and worship the gods of those nations; make sure there is no root among you that produces such bitter poison.

1 Samuel 30:6

    Amen to the previous comment. Bitterness, if allowed to take root, can be hard to excavate. Nice work as usual John.
