Bible Verses About Stealing

John Sachem
The following compilation provides a biblical concept of stealing. Feel free to use the list for personal use or group lesson material. Please keep in mind that the verses are taken out of the original context. In order to gain a better understanding of the intended meaning I would encourage you to study each passage thoroughly. If you found out that your officemate is stealing from your office would you tell it to your superiors? As a Christian, how would you balance brotherly love, mercy, and justice?

During our last Sun. School class we went over the 10 Commandments. Stealing was one of the most frequent occurences that they mentioned that someone has hurt them by. The question was how has anyone hurt you by breaking the 10 Commandments? Most of the answers were that someone stole something from them. Coveting was a close 2nd. They realized that these commandments were intended for our own good & that of society as well. They were given to us by God, as an expression of His love for us. When the 1st 4 (vertical) or that last 6 (horizontal) are broken, someone always gets hurt. Thanks for pointing out the value of this particular Commandment. I gave it a "Thumbs Up". Great job here pastor. PS, I can't help but see your joy in your smiling face my friend in Christ. Thank you for this and God bless you sir. : - )
