Biden: Obama Joked About F-bomb

Biden Says Seven Republican Senators Wanted to Vote Yes on Health Care

At a fund-raiser in Baltimore on Wednesday, Joe Biden described the president's reaction to the vice president's use of the F- word in describing the magnitude of the accomplishment of passing Health Care Reform Bill. According to Biden's comments at the home of David S. Cordish, the president told those in attendance at his morning briefing, "You know what the best thing about yesterday was? Joe's comment." President Obama also joked, said Biden, about getting a T-shirt made up with Biden's F-bomb quote.

$2,500 Dinner Menu

The fund-raising event was held in Lutherville, Md., and was attended by approximately 60 guests who each paid $2,500 for a dinner with Joe Biden, which featured mixed greens salad, fresh grilled vegetables, saffron infused rice, seafood Newberg with jumbo shrimp, fresh lobster, and fresh crab, blueberry crisp with vanilla ice cream. Baltimore Mayor Stephanie C. Rawlings-Blake and former Maryland Sen. Paul Sarbanes were both in attendance.

Biden Says Seven Republicans Wanted to Vote for the Health Care Bill

Biden told the audience that the Republicans were not honestly interested in health care, there were seven Republican senators, said Biden, that he personally knows wanted to vote yes for the Health Care Bill, but who were instructed by party leaders to vote against it. Biden said that the flurry of amendments to the Health Care Bill Reconciliation offered by the Republicans in the Senate were dishonest. "The American can smell a rat," Biden told the group. "They know that there was nothing about trying to get a better bill."

Biden: Obama Swept Some Dems to Office in 2008

Biden also talked about Democratic chances in the November 2010 elections. Biden told the group of Democratic supporters that the success of some Democrats in 2008 was entirely attributable to Barack Obama and the very large turnout of Democratic voters that his popularity engendered. Without a presidential ballot in 2010, that turnout may be less and Biden predicted that some Democrats who won in traditionally Republican districts would lose their seats. He hinted that he had more specific information, but would not comment further with the pool reporter present.

Biden Says Dems Have Pocket Ace in 2010 Elections

Biden's tone for the upcoming elections was positive overall, "reports of the demise of the Democratic party in November are premature... The ace we have in our pocket is the Republican party. The Republicans concluded that their success lies in our failure... If we were unable to move the ball on this issue, not only in the political sense might we be dead... But in terms of being able to deal with other major issues on our plate, we would've been done. Absolutely done."

I have to say this--people are talking about senators cursing but no one made a big stink about the moron who shouted "babykiller"

I have lost all respect for most Republicans. Great article. I bet that you would never hear a Republican using the F-bomb, ha! like hell!
