Bieber Paternity Case Continues

Is it on, or isn't it on, the Justin Bieber paternity case? According to reports on TMZ, Mariah Yeater had dropped her paternity suit against pop singer, Justin Bieber, but it was later reported that those rumors are false.

A source at the San Diego, California courthouse where the petition was filed confirmed to E! News that Yeater filed a motion to dismiss her paternity action on Nov.9, 2011

Not so fast though, according to what Yeater's new lawyer on the case, Jeffrey Leving told the Associated Press. "The case has not been dismissed, and the lawsuit could be refiled at a later date." He went to say that they are trying to settle the case out of court with the Bieber camp and it would be better for everyone if that happened. Leving said he believes both camps may sign a confidentiality agreement that will keep the paternity results private, but also said he realizes that may not be possible.

Leving, the attorney who now represents Yeater after two of her other attorneys withdrew from the case, said that the media storm that has ensued and the death threats made to Yeater were the main reasons the lawsuit was withdrawn. He declined to comment if Yeater reached out to police for any protection from these "so called" death threats.

Meanwhile, according to TMZ, Justin Bieber's camp has a totally different account of the story. They are planning on suing Mariah Yeater and her lawyers for filing a malicious claim. "They intend to hold them accountable and will consider all options to protect Justin, Bieber's publicist said. "It is sad that someone would fabricate such a malicious, defamatory and demonstrably false claim", he went on to say.

Justin Bieber has maintained his innocence in Yeater's claims that he fathered her 4 month old son and said he would take a DNA test to prove he isn't the father of her illegitimate child as soon as he returns from touring.

When Mariah Yeaters past came to light, her story seemed to unravel, pretty fast. It turns out this wasn't the first time she was trying to pin paternity on someone who wasn't the father. It was reported that her two previous attorneys decided to leave the case when some of Yeaters "true character" started to be revealed. She claims that it was exactly 36 weeks and 2 days after her "30 second" sexual encounter with Bieber that she delivered her son, and no other possible men she had sex with could be the baby's father, based upon this timing.

It looks like we haven't heard the end of this "Bieber Baby Story".
