Big Backyard Greenbrook Wood Gymset Playset Review

The Big Backyard Greenbrook Wood Gymset is the answer for those looking for a great way to keep a large brood of kids occupied in your own backyard. Unlike those Little Tikes or Fisher Price play sets, which toddlers seem to outgrow right away, the Big Backyard Greenbrook Wood Gymset looked like something that my kids could grow with. Although not exactly the most attractive of playsets, the Big Backyard Greenbrook Wood Gymset looks good enough. It has a rustic wooden theme, and the set is composed of a slide set, a tree house, a writing area, four swings and climbing area. This particular Big Backyard set measures twenty meters in length, eleven meters in width and four meters in height. Its play deck is five meters.

Although the Big Backyard playsets come in various names such as Ashford, Aspen Lodge, Suncrest, Westvale, etc. they all look similar if not the same to me. Perhaps there are just minor details that differ but they all generally come with the same multi-level play deck, wooden roof, a porch area covered by a small canopy, various windows that allow the tree house to "breathe", a ten meter spiral wave slide, a write on/wipe off chalk wall, a rock wall with climbing rocks, a rear access climbing ladder and a lower sandbox. Not to mention the swing sets that the kids so love. It is definitely an all-in-one activity center that gives kids a variety of options, making the Big Backyard Greenbrook Wood Gymset perfect for parks, preschools or big households.

There are some flaws with the Big Backyard Greenbrook Wood Gymset though. If you are buying this for your own home, you will find assembly extremely tedious. Unlike with schools or parks where at least they have staff to do the assembling, my husband and I put the Big Backyard Greenbrook Wood Gymset together ourselves. It took around three days for us to get through this because of all the various parts that we had to ensure were in place. We did not want to compromise the safety of our five children for the sake of keeping them occupied right away. I also did not like that the Big Backyard Greenbrook Wood Gymset did not use smooth wood. I can already imagine my kids complaining of splinters later on. Luckily, we have had no complaints as of yet. Also, because it does cost around nine hundred dollars, I just expected more out of it, especially aesthetically. But as long as the kids are having fun, and they are, I really can't complain. The Big Backyard brand seems durable and safe enough. Just make sure you check on your kids from time to time.

I am not sure how many people are going to read this, however I am going to put my opinion wherever I can...our Big Backyard Swing Set was a HUNK OF JUNK!
We ordered the Suncrest (not the Suncrest II) and after about 18 month (5 months of play time) we had to take the swings down and watch our 2 and 4 year olds just look at this thing in our backyard.
These swing sets are not solid, they do not come with 4x4 posts, there are two 2x4's which you screw together. Then the screws strip the wood and make it crack...and then it's over.
DO NOT BUY A BBY SWING SET. You will be better off making a bigger financial investment up front because after only two years we have to replace this unit.
