Introduction

There are lots of Sudoku games out there in the market, but Big Bang Sudoku is one of the best games out there for the iPhone. Developed by Freeware, Big Bang Sudoku has what one would expect from a basic Sudoku game. The new version of Big Bang Sudoku i.e. version 1.2 provides 10000 Sudoku puzzles, Portuguese language support, enhanced sound and fixed settings and options. It also features access to Sudoku applications through iTunes. The game offers great graphics, sound, animation and easy controls. It is, however, still a bit lacking.

Features

Big Bang Sudoku has the following features:

10,000 pre-generated Sudoku puzzles

Sudoku apps

Portuguese language support

Main Review

Big Bang Sudoku is a basic Sudoku game. Some notable features of the game are the many Sudoku applications available through iTunes. Aside from these apps, the game also comes with 10,000 unique pre-generated games.

Game control is fairly easy and straightforward. The user interface is also rather friendly and easy to use. One minor drawback is the lack of in-game options. The application or game itself, while done quite well, has very minimal options. No options are available to automatically fill in or mark the spaces or to fill in all the really obvious spaces. Players can only enter the numbers or marks manually with the game showing the player what numbers are incorrect.

As for the Sudoku game, it works in the way it is supposed to. Players will find it rather simple at the early levels, with difficulty increasing as the level goes higher.

Game graphics are quite superb, with the few animated sequences excellently rendered and incorporated where appropriate.

Big Bang Sudoku is a basic Sudoku game developed as an application for the iPhone. Sadly, though, that is all there is to it. The game does nothing more than present the many Sudoku games included, and it is priced too high for such a simple offering. The graphics and sound are great, but the game itself does not make much of a bang.

Pricing

The Big Bang Sudoku game is available for purchase at the iTunes store for a very nominal price of $0.99.

Conclusion

The game graphics are excellent, as are the sound effects. Game controls and user interface are simple and easy to use, getting an average rating. Players, however, may find the game monotonous after some time, putting the replay value at below average. Considering all the aspects, this game gets a fair rating of 3.5 out of 5.
