Brian recognized he played the game too hard too soon: a critical Big Brother mistake. The key to staying in Big Brother for the first few weeks is simply not looking like a strong player while being the type of houseguest others enjoy. Many houseguests thought Brian was fun, but Jerry outing his many alliances did too much damage. Brian was discovered to be a crafty manipulator early in the game.
The first official week in the Big Brother 10 house has given viewers a glimpse of what is to come in the next few weeks. Viewers are still learning about this season's cast. During his interview with Julie Chen following eviction, Brian said that Memphis is the strongest player in the house. Memphis does seem to be a good player. He was very smart not to commit to an early alliance with Brian and Dan when approached. But, they did not know he was already in a bonded alliance.
The first eviction episode ended with the Head of Household competition. Jessie is this week's Head of Household winner. The competition involved guesses of what the majority of the house would answer for questions asked by Julie Chen, the Big Brother host, followed by a tie breaking "how many pillows were on the bed during the veto competition?" number guess.
Jerry and others feared Steven would win the tiebreaker and were ecstatic to learn Jessie prevailed.
Now the game is heating up and alliances are forming and/or becoming more bonded. Houseguests have identified Steven, Dan and Angie as smart players, which mark them for eviction. Big Brother After Dark, which airs on Showtime 2 and live Internet feeds provide up to date information through houseguest's conversations and interactions.
Renny and Jerry, the oldest houseguests, are trying to find their place in the game. Jerry is doing a better job than Renny. Neither are seen as threats and likely will stay in the competition and be manipulated to evict stronger players. Jerry believes he is aligned with Jessie, but he is not truly in Jessie's larger and more powerful alliance. He is not included in strategy sessions. However, in true Big Brother fashion that could change as the weeks pass.
This early power alliance was made between Michelle, Memphis, Jessie and Angie to go to the final four. Jessie and Michelle have an early plan to go to the final two together. Because Angie became close to Brian, the group now doubts Angie's allegiance and is insisting she do something to prove her loyalty (likely, this means take orders if she wins Power of Veto and/or serve as a pawn). The group is considering pulling in another player but is uncertain of a choice. They are reluctant to include Jerry fully, but both Jessie and Michelle express they will feel badly when it is time to vote him off.
The alliance of four does seem to be certain of Jessie's nominations this week. The night following the win of Head of Household, it was decided Dan and Steven would be nominated for eviction. If the POV is used, Angie is mentioned as a replacement. Jessie tells the girls it is important to stick to the plan. Although, no one is ever secure, she should not worry. Jessie plans with the group to strike a deal ensuring Angie's safety for the next three weeks. In fact, he privately tells her she is safe for three weeks. In other conversations, Jerry asserts Angie should be evicted this week. Jerry's opinion is disregarded. The group intends to evict Steven.
Libra, April and Keesha are together; however, there are questions if Keesha is playing both sides of the fence. Michelle is interacting with the three so her alliance is not known. At this time, Keesha believes Renny is the target. (Jessie would like to evict Renny for personal reasons but knows it is not good game play.)
Plans in the Big Brother house are apt to change quickly and day by day. This information is current following the first night after the second Head of Household competition and is only what Houseguests have revealed on feeds. The game has now become interesting as strategy is truly the focus and viewers are learning about the houseguests and choosing their favorites. Big Brother 10 is off to a good start.
