Big Brother 10 Premieres July 13, 2008

Big Brother 10 will premiere on Sunday, July 13, 2008 at 8:00 pm EDT on CBS. It will follow its normal summer schedule airing Sundays at 8:00, Tuesdays at 9:00 and Wednesdays at 8:00.

Loyal Big Brother fans are gobbling up rumors circulating the Internet. Three seem to be most common. Some speculate there will be reunions of some sort which was sparked by the Big Brother 10 commercial with black silhouettes dancing to the song "Happy Together". The commercial aired during the final episode of Big Brother 9 promoting the summer season. Reunions are a common twist for Big Brother. Other fans are claiming there will be a fans vs. favorites show like this most recent season of Survivor. There isn't much evidence to support this theory. In fact, on an appearance of Housecalls (CBS's live Internet Big Brother discussion program) in April, the executive producer of Big Brother, Allison Grodner, replied to a viewer's question about another all star show that it was too soon since the first All Stars season (Season 7) to have another. The most plausible scenario is the young vs. old twist. Many fans have complained about the lack of older houseguests. During the same April appearance on Housecalls, Allsion Groedner said she hoped to find more older contestants. This hypothesis is most likely.. In a June edition of TV Guide, Grodner says to expect a wider age spread and reports after Evel Dick won Season 8 and Sheila placed third in Season 9, "They're (contestants) seeing that the younger contestants are impulsive and explosive and do themselves in" Grodner continues "The older ones now feel they've got a real shot at the money." The winner of Big Brother receives a cash prize of $500,000.

Aside from the premiere and show times, one thing fans know for sure is Big Brother 10 houseguests have been selected. Robyn Kass, Big Brother producer, posts on her blog:

Big Brother fans are certainly passionate. In fact, fans in Los Angeles had the opportunity on June 8th to make a commercial promo expressing their love for Big Brother that may air for the upcoming show. These extreme fans should be pleased with Grodner's pledge of extreme houseguests "we're going to have our wildest group yet...we've found some extreme personalities with very extreme points of view".

The internet rumors will continue to develop as fans wait in anticipation of the Big Brother 10 unveiling.
