Big Brother 12, the First Veto Competition

The Saboteur Puts the House Guets on Edge with Another Revelation

Kim Remesch
Annie played host for the first Big Brother 12 Power of Veto competition. The chosen house guests had to use their brain power to do a sort of word scramble on steroids.

Brendon took himself off the block by winning this week's veto competition. The house guests had to break pinatas filled with letters, then make a long word out of the letters. Brendon made the longest word, UNDERSTANDING, to win the contest.

Rachel made the word CHEMISTRY, and she said she wanted to say it was because she and Brendon have chemistry. Good move on her part to keep that to herself.

Hayden had to pick someone else to put up. The Brigade has decided that Annie may be The Saboteur (at worst) and in an alliance with Brendon and Rachel (at best), so she becomes the new target. Now Annie and Rachel are on the block.

The Brigade remains under wraps. So far, no one has a clue that there's a Meow Meow in the house.

As the house guests started speculating on the identity of The Saboteur once again. Just as Kristen comments that they haven't heard from the Saboteur in a while, the TV screen flashes up with that mysterious figure. He throws out the bombshell. He tells the house guests that while they introduced themselves to one another as strangers, the fact is that two of the house guests came in as life-long friends.

So, is that the big sabotage, or is that just something The Saboteur is saying to stir the pot once again. Brendon immediately says they should discount it as a trick, which again makes him a target.

Someone speculated that Kathy and Kristen may be mother and daughter. They look alike and have strong southern accents. It seems a bit obvious, but The Saboteur said it would be obvious. Then again, the point of The Saboteur is to lie and cause trouble. And he's doing it.

Worse, when The Saboteur makes his announcement that there is a pair of life-long friends in the house, Andrew shows his crazy side once again. Or, maybe I should say he upped his crazy side, because he's never really let down that crazy façade. He explained to the group that he can't be The Saboteur obviously because no one else is Jewish, so they wouldn't be among his friends. Andrew seems to think he makes his case with his protestations, but the more he talks, the more people believe he's The Saboteur and/or just plain crazy.

It will be a big night Thursday, as the first house guest is evicted, a new head of household is crowned AND the identity of The Saboteur is revealed.

Stay tuned for the July 15, Thursday show at 8 p.m.
