'Big Brother 13' Recap: Guess Who's Back in the House?

Victoria Leigh Miller

Thursday night's eviction episode of "Big Brother 13" teased us with the frightening prospect of the reunion of Brenchel.

While last week it was all about this season's returning power couple-- the now-engaged Brendon and Rachel-- being split up after Bren was sent packing, this week it was all about the return of an evicted houseguest.

Trouble was, the returning houseguest would have to fight for their right to get back into the game. Making matters more complex, if she were to be evicted, Rachel would possibly have to battle her man.

So many scenarios, so little time.

This week it was Rachel and this season's resident floater, Lawon, up on the block. Whoever was sent home would battle one of the first four evicted houseguests -- Keith, Cassie, Dominic or Brendon--for a chance to get back into the house. This gave us the very real possibility of Brendon battling this week's evictee.

Of course the logistics were kept secret from the houseguests, while "BB" fans were busy voting and texting away for which evicted houseguest they wanted to see back in the game.

For some reason, Lawon begged to be out on the block this week. He was under the impression that he'd be brought right back into the house with some sort of super power.

But common sense would tell you that this season's hamsters should still vote out the ultra-threatening Rachel. Because let's face it, her threat to Head of Household, Kalia-- that she'll come back to get her-- really held little weight. Rach would have to jump through a couple of hoops to "get" anyone. First she'd have to win the battle back into the house (possibly against her fiance). Then she'd have to win head of Household next week.

For some inane reason, Kalia was quaking in her boots over Rachel's threats-and so was the rest of the house. This not-so-brainy bunch sent the threatless Lawon home this week. Have too many days of slop caused them all to become delirious?

So guess who Lawon battled for a chance to get back in to the game?

Yeah, you guessed it. America voted for Brendon. And he won the fluffy ball-tossing competition, thanks in part to Rachel's sideline coaching.

Fiction writers couldn't dream this stuff up, but now the game has two strong power couples back in action.

Next week Kalia needs to be voted out due to her sheer stupidity. Meanwhile, poor Lawon looked like he'd been hit with a club. Totally dazed and confused over what transpired. Lawon may trump Marcellas when it comes to making the dumbest move in "Big Brother" history.

The only thing better than this would have been an evicted Rachel battling her "man" to get back into the house.
