"Big Brother 13" Shockers Coming

Chris Houston

"Big Brother 13" returns to CBS tonight for another season of lying, betrayal and comradery. The competition based reality television show is a summer favorite for many-and it appears "Big Brother 13" will offer more shockers to kick off this season. I'd like to warn for spoilers ahead in this article..but CBS has been tight lipped about the total cast this year. So tight-it's kind of impressive.

So far, only 8 of the official cast members have been unveiled on the official CBS website. What shockers are in store for the premiere tonight? It appears some double trouble is on the way back. Does that mean Brendon and Rachel? What about Jeff and Jordan back on "Big Brother 13?" CBS has provided a list of possible duos returning to the show. It includes Brendon and Rachel, Jeff and Jordan, Hayden and Enzo, Dr. Will and Mike "Boogie", Jessie and Natalie or Evel Dick and Daniel. In a possible telling twist, CBS is allowing fans to vote on the duos. So far through the afternoon of the premiere Jeff and Jordan are the vote leaders. Does that mean the vote will carry any weight? It seems unlikely that CBS could wait until the last minute to send in the duos-but you never really know with "Big Brother." The spoiler here could be that several of the duos are coming back-and that means double double trouble for the rest of the houseguests. Perhaps all of the duos will come back to make it an even 8 vs. 8 scenario. Wouldn't that be something? That would perhaps rival a fun "Survival" All-Stars show.

The cast of 8 people(duos) from seasons past could provide the opening night premiere shocker. Before we discuss, let's first get to the ultimate question. When does "Big Brother 13" air? Unless you've been hiding in a cave sheltered from reality television, you probably already know the first episode is tonight, July 7th at 7pm CST on CBS. Unfortunately for fans, the premiere is just 60 minutes long. That could potentially mean the remaining duos will not be introduced until later this week. Another episode will air this coming Sunday.

There are some "Big Brother 13" spoilers out there on the web-but there doesn't appear to be a definitive answer as to who the returning duos are or how many there will be. Could it actually be based on a fan vote? The only thing we know for sure is that there will be at least one fabulous returning duo. The new cast members of BB 13 are probably going to be shocked to find out they have roommates with some top notch experience. Will the returnees have huge targets on their individual backs or will the new cast members join hands immediately?

We saw how on "Survivor" this past season that a recurring cast member could not only earn respect but win the entire competition. Returning player "Boston" Rob took home top honors so it might be apparent for some of the cast members that they can ride the duos for at least some mileage. Although I think the fact that these people come in as duos will also potentially hurt their game play immediately-unless they team up with other duos. "Big Brother 13" participants have always quickly tried to dissolve any pairs that emerge in the early going. Alliances are typically only as good as you keep them hidden.

So if it is Jeff and Jordan-or Brendon and Rachel-or a combo of both then they'll certainly have a tough time in the early going trying to bond with new cast members. A group of four is an extremely powerful thing on a reality show like "Big Brother 13." And once again, $500,000 dollars will be at stake.

The premiere of "Big Brother" 13 will provide some fireworks as the potential duos get introduced in the coming week or so-unless that's delayed until the cast members get comfy. We don't need spoilers to know that BB13 is going to be one for the ages-with recurring characters we've either grown to love or be completely annoyed with. I don't think there has been a cast member who ticked off so many people like Rachel in some time. For that reason, I think Rachel is a strong bet to get the nod--and with her comes Brendon. Jeff and Jordan won their season-well, Jordan did anyway-so it probably won't sit so well with new cast members if she tries to come back to win more money. Hayden was also a winner--so I think the same can be said for a second appearance for him. The entire scenario that could play out is quite interesting-and should add to the overall chemistry or lack thereof on the show this season. One thing is for sure, and I don't need spoilers to tell me this, "Big Brother 13" should be extremely watchable this season.
