The housemates try to win a cash prize by avoiding periodic evictions from the house. Each week a competition is held and the winner becomes the head of Household. The Head of Household (HoH) gets their own bedroom and other perks but it is also their responsibility to nominate 2 people for eviction. A veto ceremony is later held which is a game and the winner can take someone off nomination, causing the HoH to have to put up someone else, or they can leave the nominations as they are. Later the house guests cast votes for which of the two nominated that they want to leave the house and that person is then evicted from the house.
The goal is to be the last one in the house and the winner receives a huge amount of money. The first year that Big Brother was on the viewers were able to vote out who they wanted to leave the house of the two nominated but after that first year Big Brother changed that and the house guests now decide who leaves.
The twelfth season is upon us and Big Brother 2010 will air on CBS July 8th 2010. The series is going to be airing at different days and times than previous years. This season Big Brother 2010's first episode begins on a Thursday and the schedule has each episode airing on Sundays, Wednesdays and Thursdays all at 8PM EST.
Some may think living in a house that has running water, air conditioning and other comforts would be a piece of cake, however this is not so. Imagine living in a house where everyone is strangers, there are no radios, no computers, no TVs, no games, no phones and no contact with the outside world.
Everyone is there for one thing, to win money. They lie, cheat and back stab to be the winner. It is a very challenging game and even the most honest person can be pushed to do things or behave in ways they might not in the outside world.
There are funny moments, sad moments and many instances of arguments. Big Brother 2010 will be just as entertaining as prior episodes and it helps fill the summer evenings with entertainment, especially when everything else on TV is a rerun during the summer. If you have Showtime you can also watch they live each night at midnight until 4am. Sometimes nothing much happens during these hours but most often there is some exciting things going on and you can watch it happen live in its entirety instead of seeing the brief instances that are aired on the scheduled shows.
So if you are looking for some great some television viewing check out Big Brother 2010 beginning July 8th each Sunday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings at 8pm EST.
