Big Brother 9: Joshuah And His Doo-Rag Wave Bye Bye

Susan Pettrone
Well, here we go again, Big Brother 9 shows us what it's all about once more! After the same old reruns of past episodes and escapades and Julie Chen showing off her latest in Chen bot attire, we get down to business. Tonight of course we know that there will be a eviction and everyone it seems except clueless Joshuah pretty much knows WHO they are going to evict.

Joshuah begins the evening trying to gain some sympathy votes with a hideous doo-rag and some crocodile tears (which I guarantee you Adam is going to be ticked off later when he finds out they were fake), but as we all know from the get go they are for naught and Joshuah, doo rag and slop included are out the door in a vote of 3-1. I can't help but wonder if he hadn't told Natalie about his nefarious plan to garner votes if he had stayed. Didn't he remember the old chestnut "two can keep a secret, if one of them is dead"? And since I see no steak knifes ala BB2, or other assorted hints of violence this season, it seems that Joshuah should have kept his plan to himself. It seems that wisdom comes from the ages and Joshuah just isn't wise enough for the game. But of course this is where Sheila may win out, since she is 45 you know, and according to her she looks pretty darn good for 45 too!

Joshua goes through the evening (pretty much the entire show) thinking that his plan will work and he'll be staying. This guy doesn't have a clue as to what he has said to others and less of a clue that they may be using his plan against him.

Interestingly enough, we get to meet Joshuahs mother whom is shown with her latest "guy friend" status unknown and the noticeable absence of the introduction "Joshuah's dad" tells even the slowest in the group that this guy seems to be Mom's latest boy toy.

Mom tells us that while she was somewhat surprised (and shocked I would imagine since he had dozens of girlfriends dating back to grade school) to find out that he was gay. But, despite that announcement, they love him and support him. Good politically correct comment Mom, two points for that one. I'd love to see how she feels when Joshuah comes home minus the big payoff. To her plus though, she does admit that Joshuah has been embarrassing in his actions on the show and I'd about admit, some of his antics will be topic for discussion in the days and months ahead.

The live eviction was at least for me a bit of a let down. At a count of 3-1 with James being the only hold out voting for Sharon's eviction, Joshuah has been evicted from the Big Brother house. Joshuah takes it well and announces to the house that he is proud of himself and what he has done. Glad to hear that Joshuah old buddy, I suspect your mom has another opinion. Of course his ego won't let him go without making a totally ludicrous statement to Julie about being the strongest player in the group and how he did everything he did to protect others. OK, I believe that, like I also believe you are really a Malibu Ken.In a somewhat ho hum competition we find that Adam is now the new head of house. No word as of this post as to whom he actually going to nominate but it would not shock me one little bit if James finds himself up on the chopping block this week. Of course, stranger things have happened and as we all know, Big Brother contestants are not usually chosen because they are Rhodes scholars leaving their somewhat ADD personalities free reign to make odd and unusual choices which throw the show into an uproar and leave the audience screaming at their wide screens. But isn't that what we love about Big brother!?
