Big Brother 9: Til' Death Do You Part - Episode 3 Recap

Tim St.Sauver
I'm back with my Big Brother 9: Til' Death do you Part episode 3 recap.

Where we left off: Alex and Amanda are the HoH's. There are seven couples remaining, and in this episode Alex and Amanda need to nominate of them for eviction.

The house guests all come in from the HoH competition to see that Big Brother has redecorated. There are now pictures of each player up on the wall. Jen states (very loudly and matter-of-factly) that Big Brother put her picture first because she is going to win. James gets upset about Jen's cocky demeanor. Parker is also near the top of the list of people that didn't like Jen's comment, because all he really wanted to do was lay low while Alex and Amanda choose the couples they are going to nominate for eviction. This is funny, because as you will soon read, Parker and Jen did anything but lay low.

Jen Gets Annoying

I'll admit that I initially liked Jen. She seemed fun and lively. But I was wrong. She is immature, loud, and completely oblivious to the reality of the situation she is in. The "I'm going to win" statement is just the tip of the iceberg on this front. More to come on Jen.

Stop Pointing that Thing at your Foot!

Seriously. It seems as though Big Brother intentionally looked for people who would be completely inept when it came to 'playing the game.' Last episode(number two, click here to read), we had Jacob start a rumor (about the person who had the power to evict) and get called on it. How dumb was that? The second Jacob started that rumor he effectively pulled himself and Sharon off the show.

So nobody is going to do anything that stupid this week, are they? Yes, they are. Jen and Parker become convinced that Allison is going to reveal the secret about Jen and Ryan. So the best plan they can come up with is to beat her to the punch. Parker and Jen go around and tell the other couples that Jen and Ryan are dating. Stupid! I can't even imagine how they figured this one out. We don't want anyone to figure out our secret, and we think Allison might tell. "I've got it, let's tell everyone!" It is the equivalent of shooting yourself just to be sure nobody else does it.

Had they stopped to think for 2 seconds, they could have probably figured out that even though Allison may have been inclined to tell the secret, doing so would hurt her just as much as it would hurt them. As I've already alluded to though, there doesn't seem to be a lot of thinking going on.

When the truth is revealed, the other house guests are pretty upset. The want to know why it took so long for Jen and Ryan to come clean, and Parker and Allison are pulled into the mess by association. They also want to know if Big Brother put any other people in the house that had existing relationships before the show started. The best way to find out? Call a meeting and have everyone swear on a bible. Some of the players feel that the bible thing is stupid, but everyone does it and they all seem to believe there is only one real couple in the house. The damage is done at this point though. Nobody likes the forced alliance, and they seem intent on breaking it up.

An Unforced Alliance

Alex and Matt seem to really get along. They formed their alliance in the bathroom, while one of them was showering! Fast friends, eh? I don't know why they chose to carry out a conversation while one of them was sans clothes, but whatever works I suppose. They told their partners (Amanda and Nat) about the alliance and the better halves were on board.

A New Couple?

Allison and Sheila have become pretty good friends at this point. They talk a lot, and during one of these talks they decide they are going to pretend they are a lesbian couple that knew each other from outside of the house. They tell Joshuah, and he runs off to tell Neil. A few more people 'find out'. Not too much more of it was made in this episode, but I am curious to see where it goes. They have Joshuah convinced. They even said they had an adopted child. If more people buy into it, things could get interesting.

Really! Stop Pointing that Thing at your Foot!

Twice in one episode seems to be too much. Last episode, everyone seemed sure Sheila and Adam were going to be booted, because they were annoying and no one liked them. All everyone else had to do was shut up and they would have been fine. But Jacob spoke up and became public enemy number one. This episode, the two teams that contained outside of the house lovers were easy targets. Again, all everyone else had to do was shut up and watch Parker/Jen and Ryan/Allison get nominated. So what does Sheila do? She starts complaining about Adam again. This time Alex (HoH) and Matt come to Adam's defense. They say he is a cool guy, and ask Sheila why she talks bad about him so much and point out that Adam isn't going around talking bad about her. Sheila responds that she doesn't talk bad about him (HA!) and then immediately continues bad mouthing him. I love it. Then Adam confronts her, and she flips out. I mean really flips out. There is screaming, and bad words, and a lot of crying. Then she runs off to cry alone.

Nomination Time

Three couples appear to be front runners in the first nomination ceremony of Big Brother 9. Parker/Jen and Ryan/Allison because of the secret relationship, and Adam/Sheila because they are a train wreck. At the end of the day, the train wreck lives and Ryan/Allison and Parker/Jen are nominated. There were just too many people that shot themselves in the foot here.

Quick Hits

-Amanda tells a few others about her father, who committed suicide. It is an emotional moment. Chelsia says that she was probably wrong about the way she perceived Amanda to be.

-Alex and Amanda move into their HoH room. Amanda gets her Father's favorite CD in her care package, while Alex gets a cross made from debris pulled from ground zero, where is Father died.

-Jen is quite candid about the fact that if it has to be her or Ryan (leaving the show) it is going to be Ryan. She doesn't really seem to care.

-Word gets out that Adam in uncircumcised. Jen really wants to see, and he gives her a quick glimpse. Man I can't stand her.

That's all for this episode of Big Brother 9. Until next time...
