It seemed the five remaining really wanted to win it, especially Brendon. He knew most would put he and Rachel up if he didn't get HOH and after Enzo dropped out, Brendon slipped and fell into the watery pond. He was more upset about being on slop for another week, but Rachel was upset as well as she knew her ass was now on the line. That left Andrew, Ragan and Matt left to battle it out. Andrew and Ragan made a very public deal to not nominate each other, while Matt just chatted away and seemed perfectly fine standing on the board. Being short and all helped to his advantage. Andrew was the next to slip off, he also wasn't happy about the slop but with only two left, the house went in to let them discuss.
Ragan and Matt discussed who should win and Ragan decided he'd give it to Matt. Now you have to remember that Ragan believes that Matt's wife as a life threatening disease, so that played a role. Ragan kind of pushed for Rachel and Brendon being safe, and when Matt agreed that they would be safe, at least pre-Veto, Ragan waited about another half out and "slipped" off the board. Matt was then crowned the third HOH, making it the second week in a row that the surviving nominee gained the HOH power. That put the Showmance in a bad predicament and also put the Brigade back in power, or so they thought.
While Brendon and Rachel cried and pouted about not being safe for the week, the Brigade met to discuss basically putting them on the block. Matt seemed to go along with the idea at first but then talked turned to Hayden. The other three; Matt, Lane and Enzo; realized that Hayden was spending a lot of time with Kristen. They discussed that they may be related, or the life-long friends, but in reality they just met and are the new secret Showmance in town. It seems that Brendon and Rachel know about the other couple trying to steal their spotlight, but as of now everyone else is oblivious.
Before the nomination ceremony we finally got to see some of the more funnier, lighter segements of the season. One featured Britney trying to teach Enzo how to talk "normal", without his New Jersey accent. Another featured Britney and Lane role playing what Brendon and Rachel were saying to each other as they were working outside. The third once again featured the showmance, this time making out as normal but being disturbed by Andrew always walking in on them. They could have done a whole segment of Kathy doing the same thing, but I'm sure that will be used later. As nominations approached, Matt met with Brendon and Rachel to make a deal, he is safe if they don't go up this week. They of course agreed and it was then time to talk to Andrew. Matt told him that he wants to backdoor Brendon or Rachel, and that Andrew would go up as a pawn in doing so. Andrew wasn't pleased but acted like he was ok with it, he just didn't understand. And when nominations were revealed it were Kathy and Andrew that were up on the block. Kathy since she voted for Matt last week, and Andrew for being the pawn. I don't believe the Brigade had much of a clue that it was going to happen, or at least they made it seem that way on the TV version. You'll have to wait and see how Power of Veto plays out on Wednesday, but if you want a sneak peak then check out the main page for spoilers.
