Big Brother is Watching You Right Now!

Big Brother is watching your every move. He is ever inventing ways to get into your house, your job, your bedroom, even your bathroom. You may be of the assumption that just because you don't give out your phone number (it's actually unlisted), you don't use credit cards (or at least not over the phone or the internet), and you tell only "select" friends anything about your life, that you are protecting yourself from His watchful eye.

Big Brother knows exactly what you watch on television (including late night shows). He sees and keeps track of each and every website you visit. Big Brother watches how you act with your family behind closed doors. He listens to the volume and tone of the voice you use when you speak to your spouse and children. Big Brother knows that if you take a step into a public leadership role that the door may be opened to the things He has seen you do; under the cover of night.

Big Brother knows that in your strain to "keep up with the Joneses, you are in debt "up to your eyeballs." He is well aware of how much you "fudge" on your taxes. And don't think you're safe behind the walls of a church. Big Brother knows that when you claim to be "tithing" to your church, it's improbable that you could produce proof that 10% of your increase goes into the offering plate. Big Brother even knows that you are only "kind" to people that you think could "help you out" some day in the future. He knows that you give to the poor; coins here and there, a day serving at the homeless shelter, or a monthly partnership donation to a worldwide ministry.

Big Brother is watching you. And frankly He is not impressed. He is intimately acquainted with your pride, arrogance, and boastful attitude. You have lied. You have stolen. You have lusted. You have put "any and everything" in front of your relationship with Him. The only thing Big Brother wants from you, is for you to repent. Ask God's forgiveness for your past behaviors. Believe that the "real Big Brother," Jesus Christ, suffered and died on the Cross and that He rose again on the third day. When we verbally acknowledge this truth, we are put in right standing with God. The resurrection of Jesus Christ was God's assurance of the fact that the precious blood of Jesus was sufficient to pay the debts we all owe. "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." (Romans 6:23)

The Bible says to "...make your calling and election sure" (2 Peter 1:10). Even if you have made Jesus your Lord and Savior, you may have slipped back into old patterns of behavior. Recommit yourself NOW! If you're not sure of your salvation, make Psalm 51 your own prayer. You will never have to worry about Big Brother again. Because Big Brother will be on your side. He will never leave or forsake you.
