Big Dumb Polack

x
Me with a book? Unnatural, indeed!
Why does it surprise you this Polack can read?

God forbid you respect me as a man
And not treat me like some orangutan

"That shaved-white ape just isn't all that smart
A big bag of meat without any heart"

They pay me to move heavy things; Big deal!
Let's see YOU try and lift that chunk of steel!

Maybe I don't work behind some big desk
That don't mean I sign my name with an "X"

I know why y'all put me down like ya do
Are y'all afraid I might be smarter'n you?

You wish I was slow, but that's not the case
That I'd just accept things, stay in my place

But what if this world won't heed to YOUR plans?
At least I'm not scared to dirty MY hands!

I know that when all hell finally breaks loose
I'll surely survive; not so sure 'bout youse!

This is very well-done, Mike!!! Loved it. (From your fellow Eastern-European white trash AC contributor, me ;)

Don't judge a book by its cover, isn't that what they say? Don't ever underestimate someone! You speak for a lot of people, I'm sure.

Thanks for your comment on my article, Momma You're So Mean. One has to experience ridicule to comprehend the cruelty behind it. Good poem.

Loved it! I'm part Polish on my mother's side, and very proud of it.

Great poem! I don't know where people pick up their stereotypes from. I have some lovely Polish friends who moved to the UK. You should hear what some people think of us Brits. It's enough to turn my curly hair straight!

Great stuff, although I'm pretty sure all hell has broken loose already.

This is the heart of War of the Crits. The hypocrisy of humanity. Great job on this poem.
