Big Jim's Drive-In Restaurant in The Dalles, Oregon, Area - Burgers Made with Love

I am so glad we moved to The Dalles, Oregon, area. I have found some of the most unique and best tasting food I think I'll ever find. My husband and I recently dined at a neat little restaurant located in the heart of The Dalles. This restaurant Big Jim's Drive In has been in business for over 40 years now and I can see why.

Big Jim's Drive In has just about everything you can imagine. They offer home made burgers that are fresh and they taste so good. They come loaded with all of your favorites from fresh lettuce and cheese and tomato's and all the trimmings.

Big Jim's carries an amazing menu offering it's patrons varieties from Fried Fish and Chip baskets to Fried Shrimp baskets and Fried Chicken Tender baskets that are fried to perfection and tender and juicy with your choice of sauce.

They also make some dang good onion rings for those of you looking for a real onion in your onion ring and not some processed frozen product that some restaurants use. Their sauces are all homemade and fresh and they have some fantastic tasting french fries and the seasoning they put on their fries has me baffled. It taste so good I would love to know what they use.

I found this restaurant to be the cleanest that I have ever visited. It is very evident that the staff and owners take pride in their restaurant. I got the whole feeling of family when I dined here and a taste of nostalgia with the history of this place.

This business has been operating since 1968 and has changed owners I hear a couple of times. But the local patrons will let you know as they did us that the foods great taste and the value of the owners dream to make their burgers with love has never changed.

If you are driving through this town or here for a visit or you are like myself and just moved here and wanted to try something different then this is the place. They make the best home made milk shakes I've ever tasted. This restaurant also offers a huge variety of hard ice cream flavors and they even have waffle cones.

You can come in and dine or use their convenient drive through. If your not a burger person and looking for something else have no worries. This restaurant offers a large selection of cold sandwiches as well as hot sandwiches and they even had home made chili as well as clam chowder.

I noticed looking around that now that the weather has warmed up allot of people were dining outside on the patio. The kid's seemed to really be enjoying their ice cream cones for dessert. Their prices are very reasonable and I love their staff. They are so polite and customer service oriented and it shows that it's working, because all one has to do is drive by the parking lot and see how they stay busy.
