Bigfoot Killed, Kept Frozen; Police Officer Claims

Sasquatch Corpse to Be Publically Revealed

David Claerr
Matt Gary Whitton, of Forest Park, Georgia, who is a Police Officer with the Clayton County Police Department, has gone public with the announcement that he and his associate, Rick Dyer, purportedly a former Army Ranger, have in their possession the corpse of a slain Sasquatch or Bigfoot that they recovered while on an expedition in the mountains of North Georgia to capture a live specimen.

Examination of the body reportedly revealed a 30:06 rifle bullet that apparently caused the death of the creature. Subsequent interviews with a local hunter possibly have identified that hunter as the one who fired the fatal shot from a deer blind. The wounded Sasquatch ran away from the hunter and was later obtained by Matt Whitton and Rick Dyer, perhaps aided by their tracking dogs, although the exact means of their possession is not yet disclosed.

The Bigfoot corpse is described as a male, about seven foot tall, muscularly built and covered with long, reddish-brown hair. The features have a blend of human and ape-like characteristics, according to eyewitnesses. The body is preserved in a freezer, in a location that appears to be the Whitton residence, as pictured in videos posted on YouTube.

Both Matt "Gary" Whitton and Rick Dyer assert that the corpse will be publicly revealed on September 1st, 2008., and insist that it is not a hoax. They have posted a total of nine videos on YouTube that contain allusions to the discovery.

The claim has created a vigorous controversy among the ranks of Sasquatch/Bigfoot researchers and cryptobiologists. Whitton and Dyer's posts on YouTube are lacking in professionalism, and the videos are spontaneous and off-the-cuff. There is a fair amount of braggadocio and self promotion, with plugs for their services as guides on expeditions to capture or hunt for a Bigfoot. But that does not mean that their claim of a frozen corpse is a hoax. In fact, from an analysis of their body language, and patterns of neuro-linguistic expression, they do not appear to be lying.

There are many elements in the whole saga that make the story unique in several aspects. Officer Whitton was recently wounded on duty while apprehending an alleged felon. He is seen on the videos in a hospital bed while recovering and screenshots from a local TV news report are featured in the video. Subsequently, Whitton has his fore-arm in bandages and bracing, resting it on pillows in their documentary footage.

In one video, the scenario is that the anonymous hunter, "Robert", believed to have fired the fatal shot is being interviewed, without having been told that the body was found and recovered. He reports that he saw the creature from a deer blind and immediately shot it, but thought he missed because the Bigfoot fled and disappeared. He is then shown a digital picture of the corpse and identifies it as the creature he saw and fired upon. The hunter states that he is out on probation from prison, and was hunting illegally, out of season, and does not want his face to appear on camera.

In another video, a person identified only as "Frank" gives a description of the corpse, which he has purportedly seen. Frank identifies himself as a Vietnam Veteran, an Army Ranger and scout with training in "tracking, avoidance, and surveillance". He states that he was shocked at the sight of the creature, which had "human-like or ape-like features" and was huge and covered with long hair. Whitton describes Frank as their mentor, role-model and hero who has trained them in the art of tracking and methods of live capture.

One very peculiar video post that Whitton and Dyer produced was an episode that they later admitted was a fake interview with a "Dr. Paul Van Buren", with Matt Whitton's brother posing as the Van Buren character. The motivation that they later offered was to trick the "Internet hecklers" who have been hounding them with phone calls, e-mails and negative web posts.

The general impression one gathers is that these young men are energetic, enthusiastic and perseverant field researchers, who though lacking in formal education and training may none-the-less actually have recovered a deceased Bigfoot. Based on the author's personal experience, whether or not this particular claim is a hoax, it is inevitable that such a discovery will soon be made due to the exponential increase of amateurs and professionals alike who are actively searching, and networking via the Internet, investigating the numerous sightings reported to them. But most of us will just have to wait until September, at the very least, to see if they make good on their claim and their scheduled revelation.

Everybody thought I was insane when I said I saw bigfoot cross the road in front of my car in Florida on my way home from work. It's about time they nabbed one. I wish we didn't have to kill it though, but whatever it takes to proove they exist. Now we can go about the right steps to protecting these creatures and insuring there existance

dont you people think if someone killed a bigfoot it would be all over the news besides if someone did kill a bigfoot then they should be heros in history

I would be more concerned about the daily murder of unborn human babies under the guise of "choice" (s/b selfishness), than speculation on a "murder" of a "Big Foot"; which it may or may not be. Selfishness and pride are the two most common behaviors we all share; it only a matter of degree. Anyway, if this is a Big Foot, then great we know for certain it exists, then we can pass laws to protect them.

    Have a great weekend everyone!
