Literature and sightings of this mythical creature have been debated and studied since the early 1900's. Apparently, Bigfoot has been sighted in every state but the majority of them lie within the Washington forests. For example, in the 1920's a group of miners believe that ape-like men attacked them by throwing rocks into their vicinity. Even as recently as 2008, a couple of young men sold the alleged body of Bigfoot and involved many major news networks as they filmed the footage. The conclusion: A fake body that was lined with an animal carcass.
With so many sightings throughout the United States, what makes all of them hoaxes or false identities? It can't be possible that so many nuts with poor eyesight all witness a 7 foot beast covered in hair. The most comparable, and likely, answer to this question is "a bear." However, at the same standpoint, I can not imagine myself confusing a bear with the appearance of Sasquatch. If the sightings were improbable guesses or brief glimpses of an unidentified animal, why even consider Bigfoot. Attention, maybe. I, for one, would not acknowledge such a declaration unless I was 100% positive. Various Indian tribes also compare stories of such "wild men." These tales often take place in the mountains of Washington. Other comparisons to the creature insist the presence of gorillas and giant ground sloths; both of which 1. Do not inhabit the land, and 2. Do not exist.
I have no intention of sounding like a spokesperson from television series such as "Lost Tapes" or "Animal Myths & Legends," only to propose the possibility that such folklores may actually be derived from a pre-existing nature. Just recently I was researching prehistoric creatures and discovered that only 2 years ago, a prehistoric shark that was has never been seen or known to still exist, was caught off the shores of Japan. The reason for the frilled shark's extinction was based off lack of human proof to encounter one. However, though they remain 4,000 ft below sea level does not clarify that they may not exist. I agree that the tale of Bigfoot is that of a myth, hoax, or whichever term you prefer. But I do believe that there is more than our eyes have seen. Have a little faith....
