The best place to research answers to these questions, or find pictures, or even listen to audio of possible Sasquatch related noise, is on the web at www. BFRO.net.
Bigfoot Field Researchers Organization launched the web site in 1995; it is the first of its kind according to the information accessed from the front page under about the bfro.
This site is well done though exhaustive, huge in scope, as we will see, taking one's self-months to properly peruse. A pleasant journey of time well spent even considering the sheer volume of content.
The "about the Bfro" link is an interesting read, it covers ground on how they research reported sightings such as on site searches by experienced trackers and wildlife Biologists. They also conduct telephone interviews with witnesses to try and ascertain credibility. The link at the bottom of that page, will lead you to a history of the database and give an overview of the classification system covering the sightings database as all reports are classified as either a or b and also a possible but seldom used c.
All received credible reports are not posted usually due to witness request or ongoing investigations. However there is no shortage to peruse. Those also are available from the main page at the left hand side, either under recent sightings- a list of the last four months postings- though recent is a bit of a misnomer as all those reports are not recent it is more recently posted than recently occurring. The comprehensive sighting database is also available from the main page, which allows a visitor to view all posted sightings in Canada and the United States. Canada is divided into Provinces and the U.S. is divided by state and further by county, so it's easy to review any sightings in your area.
A point of interest to many I'm sure will be the fact that there are very, very few states with no sightings reported as a matter of fact, only Hawaii. Another notch in the Bigfoot trivia belt eh?
Also available from the front page, we find pertinent news articles such as, the unveiling of the Georgia body hoax - also found in the forum section, as we'll cover later in this review. Current Canadian news articles, a limb ratio analysis of the Jacobs creature, which was captured on a game camera as well as several other articles.
A FAQ section reviews the question we started this article with among others. Another section covers video, photo and audio available to see and hear, the audio section is amazing, brief with only a few entries, but amazing.
Further site departments is also a must read, with hypotheses and projects is where you get to read Dr. Jeff Meldrum, Officer Jimmy Chiliccutt, Dr. John Bindernagel, Dr. Henner Fahrenbach and other professionals divulge they're knowledge therein. Here to, the Skookum cast is found and articles about it. Expeditions are covered here in part, with greater detail given under the "discussion board." Which is where the forums are found.
Which brings us to the discussion board or forum area, where anyone who registers may post his or her thoughts. Although closely monitored the forums occasionally do get carried away sometimes ending in a section being removed or closed, the administrators do try to keep things on topic and under control. The topics here are many, possibly more content than anywhere else on the site with the possible exception of the sighting database. It does pay to remember that anyone can post here, so it helps when encountering out-there posts to remember that tidbit! The forums have, as of this writing, 3,394 members, and 45,324 posts and have had 919,791 visitors since January 13th 2006.
The BFRO web site is a great way to spend some quality time, it's never boring, an armchair adventure is just a mouse click away.
