Biggest Loser Season 8 Episode 6

Kristina Brown
The black team is surprised to see Tracey still on the ranch. They asked what happened and the blue team explained they decided to base their decision on who could help them as a whole.

Tracey finally has clearance to work out with her team and is getting her first work out with Bob and her team.

The contestants walk up to Ali on the beach to find they are starting with a challenge. Each team has four keys buried in the sand and they need to find all of them to open up their case. They have to win the challenge to find out what their prize is. Tracey and Abby have to sit and the black team has chosen for Amanda to sit out as well. Danny was the first one to get his key and then he was able to go help his other teammates get their keys. In the end the blue team got all their keys out and opened their box first.

They won Tickets to go home. Now they are told they can stay on the ranch to work out with their trainers and give the tickets to the black team or keep their tickets. The blue team has decided that the black team is going to go home.

It's a touching reunion for the contestants from the black team and their families. Perhaps this will be what they need to stay in the game or this will be a set back for this week without the gym and their trainer. They are each trying to make the right decisions while they are at home with eating, grocery shopping and exercise.

Bob wants to give his blue team a last chance workout for their first work out. He wants them to realize why they needed to stay there and he was happy that they choose to stay on the ranch.

The contestants on the black team are realizing how hard it is to work out at a gym at home. Some of them have to travel farther to get certain things they need, like Abby due to her stress fracture needs a pool. Some of them realize that they had a routine at the ranch in the gym, and find they don't know what to do at the gym at home. Jillian calls Amanda and tells her that she knows what to do calorie wise and she knows her routine and she can do it. That seems to be just what Amanda needs to stay going in the gym. Shay realizes at home it's all up to her for motivation, there is no one pushing her while she's at home.

Jillian calls Daniel next. She is checking in to see how he is doing with calories in and out and warns that they can retain water due to traveling. She lets him know that she is there if he needs her.

Some of the contestants on the black team have decided to go out to eat since that is what they will do when they are home and what they did before the went on the ranch. But they are trying to order healthy meals. Daniel decided he will cook at home instead of going out to eat since he can control how his food is made. He wants his kids to see they can enjoy a homemade meal. Shay took a few people to Subway and explained how to make healthy choices and why she made the choices she did. She added apples and water to make them fit meals.

The contestants find it hard to say goodbye to their families again. Some of them are recharged now for the ranch and ready to make more changes.

The blue team asked Bob if they could go to the food bank like last years contestants did. They wanted to donate their time. They will be filling backpacks for their backpack program. What that is are backpacks that are filled to help kids get through the weekend with their family at home.

The black team shows back up and shares some of their hardships at home with the blue team. Then they quickly decide to change and get in their last chance workout to help give them any advantage possible at the weigh-in. Daniel seems to have lost his motivation and Jillian is worried about him. He breaks down and confesses that his mom was always trying to stop him from gaining weight, and he realizes now she was showing how much she loved him but he thought she just couldn't accept him. He now wants to show her how much he loves her.

The blue team will weigh in first since they decided to stay on campus instead of going home. Allen weighs in first and has lost 8 pounds. Rebecca is next and she has lost 5 pounds. Tracey follows Rebecca and has lost 4 pounds. Liz is next to weigh in and has lost 4 pounds. Rudy is last to weigh in and has lost 14 pounds. Most of the contestants on the blue team are not happy with their numbers, but both Allen and Rudy have bigger numbers. Rudy has the chance to make history next week if he can reach the 100 pound lost mark. The blues team total is 2.265% and 35 pounds lost.

The black team needs to loose more than 45 pounds to stay on campus. Amanda is the first to weigh in and she has lost 6 pounds. Shay is next and has lost 5 pounds. Abby follows Shay and has lost 4 pounds. Dina is next to weigh in and has lost 5 pounds. Danny is next to go up and has lost 15 pounds. This puts 10 pounds on Daniel to lose to keep the black team on the ranch. Daniel weighs in and has gained one pound. That means that the black team has to choose who to send home. This puts the black team at a total weight loss of 34 pounds and 1.98%. Danny has the highest percentage of weight lost therefore he is safe from elimination.

Daniel has voted for Dina because he feels she can do this at home. Dina voted for Daniel since he has had a few chances and has learned more than them. Abby has voted for Dina bringing her votes to two. Danny has voted for Daniel saying that he feels he can do this at home now. There are now two votes for Daniel and two for Dina. Amanda has voted based on what is best for her and who will help her in this process, so she has voted for Dina bringing her votes to 3. This leaves it up to Shay and she has voted for Dina. Dina says her goodbyes and is now off of the ranch.

Dina started of weighing 253 and left weighing 218. She has lost 35 pounds in six weeks. As of today she weighs 188. So she has lost 30 pounds on her own since being home. She has also been able to overcome her obstacle of jumping on the stool. Dina has decided to treat herself to a makeover for how far she has come and she looks amazing!

This week I wasn't sure who anyone was wishing to send home but am glad that they didn't all say one person and then changed their minds again. However I do have to say that I am surprised that Daniel has been given another chance still since this is his second season on the ranch already and he gained at home. This week proves that while it is difficult to loose weight at home, it can be done with the right motivation. That is very encouraging.
