Bike Review: Jamis Quest Road Bike

John Rivers
The Jamis Quest road bike costs about $1600 which is considered to be a high price for a bicycle. However, the Quest's price range, in my opinion, is very reasonable because of its quality. I've had the Jamis Quest bicycle for about a year now and I have to say that it is the best bike that I have ever owned.

First of all, the Jamis Quest bike has got a steel frame which combines the elegance with classic look. It seems that Jamis Quest bicycle's steel frame is designed especially for road cycling and riding a couple of miles on it is pure pleasure. The steel frame is surprisingly light which is a good feature but have in mind that there are definitely lighter bicycles out there. The frame is very well designed and, because of that, the riding position on Jamis Quest is very comfortable - it is not a race bike but it is a fast road bike. This bike has got Shimano 105 Series crankset which definitely does great for a price of $175. It sustains heavy pressure without any drawbacks. It includes 20 speed gears. The only weakness of Shimano 105 Series is that you won't be able to hold on to your chainrings for too long - the Shimano crankset wears them out a bit too quickly.

Jamis Quest road bike comes with Mavic 700c rims. These are light and firm. The only weakness that I suffered with this bike is its saddle. The Selle San Marco Ischia saddle looks well and it seems that it is intended for racers. For me, personally, it was a bit uncomfortable and I had to replace it.

All in all, the Jamis Quest road bike is my favorite road bike; its price is very well combined with quality, it has got awesome steel frame and other features which I love.
