Sitting under the air conditioner may be relaxing. Working in an office with the air on pays the bills. But sooner or later, you will have to leave the house and neither of the locations above does anything for your physical health. So when you exercise, where do you go to relieve stress and get fit? Fitness studio? Dance classes? Swimming? Turn on aerobics DVDs? Jog or walk along the lakefront? Why not add the Skokie Northshore Channel Park to your list of exercise locations?

If you've already been to the Channel Runne Park in Lincolnwood and took the mile-long adventure with 18 statues along the way, why not walk in the opposite direction? The intersection at McCormick Drive and Touhy is also the starting spot for the Skokie Northshore Channel Park with over 60 statues along the bike and walking trail.

The park has three parking locations, the center of Dempster to Main Street section, the center of the Howard Street to Touhy Avenue section and the boat launch site just east of the river off Oakton Street. Admission is free, and Skokie Northshore Channel Park is accessible from CTA public transportation. The easiest way from the Howard Red Line is to take the Pace 280 bus straight down Touhy in the direction of the Lincolnwood Town Center mall. The park is two miles long from the Touhy entrance location.
