Biker Patches

Yen Li Lim
Bikers are a special group of people with ownership of incredible bikes like superbikes, vintage or classic motorcycles. Having a big bike is a status symbol and people who own these power machines will usually group together for a touring convoy or a few will choose to ride alone. Normally owners of the same class of ride will gather to form a biker group for discussion, a nice long cross country ride and taking drinks together. They will be identified by the unique custom embroidered biker patches on their jackets, caps, capes or wrist bands for a sense of belonging. This is also a good way to differentiate the groups from each other.

Most bikers are men but as the fight for gender equity takes hold, more women are starting to get their own cool bikes and biker patches to match. Common classes of bikers are formed with symbol of their biker patches showing their group identity. Symbols and designs for biker patches may vary, depending on the opinion of the group. Most common design is the eagle's wing, which symbolises the riding of bike as similar to flying on eagle's wing. The name and year of establishment of the biker's group are also commonly included on the biker patches.

Christian biker patches belong to a group of bikers sharing similar faith and they usually ride to spread their faith across the country and nation. The biker patches will normally depict the symbol of the sacred cross and wordings such as Jesus, pray, faith, born again or Christ. A lone rider might choose to design their own uncommon biker patches based on any issues close to their heart. Patriotic bikers will have biker patches with the flags or name of their county or country. Lady bikers will have beautifully designed patches with roses and other sexy images. Making biker patches with the name of the bike is also quite common for that simple person who likes simple designs.

Most bikers are non-violent people. They just have an expensive hobby and thrive with the same crowd. Some bikers however are downright violent and nasty. They are those who booze a lot and wreak havoc everywhere they go. Some ride alone and some with their hot biker babes. Their biker patches will have symbols of animals, flaming devil, or skull, which serves as a warning for people not mess with them. A picture of bull depicts hard headedness and strength, tiger symbolises courage, wild personality and roaming spirit. A bulldog sign might look comical but the rider who chooses this symbol might be as grumpy and nasty as the ugly bulldog. Flame on the biker patches shows the owner's pride in their flaming hot ride. Some night riders will choose biker patches with design of bat or wolf, which at the same time showed that they ride in packs.

Not all biker patches belong to people with large motorcycles. Some owner of smaller motorcycles or antique motorcycles are also forming clubs and designing their own biker patches. Whatever the size of the ride is, biker patches give the owner of the motorcycle an exclusive membership with people of the same ride. Biker patches comes in all shapes and sizes. Most are done in flourescent threading on dark background. Bikers are proud owners of their bikes, thus they form an identity to be reckon with by other people. They can be classified as a unique group and has existed since the invention of bikes. The earlier biker establishes motor clubs to exchange ideas and do group touring to promote the bikes. Owners of Harleys and BMW bikes made the largest group of bikers that formed clubs. In every country we can find bikers with their own biker patches. Most bikers hold convoyed tour and even races or motor shows to exhibit the latest modification or refurbishment.

Nowadays, with the convenience of internet, custom designed biker patches are readilly available online. Most offer free design and rapid delivery. This has allowed bikers to play around with their creativity and get their custom biker patches for an affordable rate. There is no better time for the creation of biker patches for the whole biker group.
