First off, this site offers valuable training tips for everyone, at no charge, from a licensed USA Cycling coach. You can't get that on a regular basis anywhere else. There are no fees, no set up or registration costs, and no commitments. Your credit card won't be charged or any other unhappy surprise you find with free samples.
The article library grows daily, with categories expanding as needed.
Have a question you don't see already answered? Ask it. You'll find an answer in your inbox usually within 24 hours. How's that for service?
Answers include written responses, but hey, better yet, sometimes they'll include video clips. Still can't figure out how to adjust your rear derailleur? Ask and you'll receive answers. Don't know what a rear derailleur is? Well they've got that covered too.
Want to learn to hop a log, how to train for a weekend tour, or even how to plan one? This group can help with that too. And guess what? You don't need to pay a monthly subscription fee for help either.
Those behing Bike Team One believe that free is free. And you give what you get. Their purpose is to promote the sport of cycling. Sure they sell some products, run some fundraisers, but none of that is required or pushed over on you. It's all set up on optional pages that you don't even have to visit if you don't want to.
For bikers of all styles - mountain bikers, downhillers, freestylists, roadies, century riders, track riders, bmx racers-- a variety of specials are offered. FREE specials that is. For June, they're offering free coaching to any woman (or girl) who is willing to commit to participating in one MTB race of any type or size. The only catch -- you're asked to write a blog entry once a week. Wow. Coaching for writing a small entry one day a week. What a bargain!
On their "About Bike Team One" page, they giving a glimpse of the offers to come. The free specials change on a monthly basis.
For those all about pictures, or those willing to share either photos or video clips, they offer a page where they'll post your pics for the world to see. Do contact them first before just sending them the photo. In this hacker and virus friendly world, they will just delete emails with attachments unless they're expecting them from you. Easy way to contact? Register (the only catch to the whole site) and write a post.
As for posting, while registration is required (you must provide an email address), if you request that a posting be anonymous, just mention it in your post and your request will be honored.
Like all sites, they may not publish everything. This site is still under partial construction and is growing on a daily basis. New posts are added every day and new articles as the need appears to arise. I understand that photo and video contests are in the works as well.
So get your biking butt on over to their site and start conversing with other riders. Remember, FREE is FREE.
