I remember when Bill Clinton was running for president and how there were a lot of people claiming that he was not ready to lead this country. I remember when he first came into the White House as our president and how many waited for him to fall flat on his face. I also remember how many still talk about the way this country changed for the better when Clinton helped to build our country into a more promised land by placing money into those pockets of the everyday family.
I was merely a child when Bill Clinton became the president of the United States, and I was an adult when he was elected for president the second time. My dad has seen many more presidents than I have, and I have heard him say time and time again that Clinton was one of the best presidents for the economy that we have had since President Kennedy.
Bill Clinton had let his wife take the show for a while during this presidential election, but now that his wife has dropped out of the race, we are seeing more and more of him. Clinton's speeches that he has given have been very powerful but it has left many wondering if this will affect the election for Obama. There are those that say they are going to elect Obama because of his race, there are those that say they are going to elect him because they feel that he would do some good, and then there are those that that have said that they are going to elect him simply because the Bill and Hillary Clinton are backing him up.
I don't know if I will be voting this year or not simply because I haven't made up my mind on what I feel that these two would actually do for this country. When President Bush was elected into the White House, I remember thinking that he is going to do a lot of good for us but by the time that he nearly through serving us as president my thoughts had changed.
Obama's campaign's slogan says that it is time for a change and change is what this country needs and hopefully whoever is elected for president will bring about a change that will not only help our economy but will also help our leadership as a country.

Post a CommentI wondered if Bill Clinton could rise above the animosities and support Obama. I joked that Hillary was speaking on the third day to undo any harm Bill did to the Obama candidacy. I'm glad Bill Clinton gave a very good speech.
In our long presidential history, only two presidents have the honor of having turned a messed up deficit economy into surplus prosperity. That was also why they had to use third-rate means to tarnish him! Otherwise there was no way to stop Gore!
As I read your article, Carl Bernstein and David Gergen were speaking on CNN about the Convention. Bernstein said he believes Clinton's speech to be one of the best speeches Clinton has ever given. I agree. It was a great speech. It did what it needed to do -- supported Obama and reassured Democratic voters that Obama is ready to lead. Of course, the Republicans think otherwise. Yet, like Ed Rollins said, it was a great speech. For those who do not know who Ed Rollins, he is a Republican strategist of some note. Think Ronald Reagan.
