Bill Compton Halloween Costume

Become True Blood's Bill Compton for Halloween!

Mike C.
In case some of you were wondering, Bill Compton is a vampire in the HBO TV series True Blood. You can read more about his character at True Blood's website. So, since it's Halloween, why not dress up to be him!

Here are some tips on creating the perfect Bill Compton Vampire Costume:

If your hair isn't dark brown, you'll need a short brown men's wig. Using gel and/or hairspray, style it to look like Bill's hair, which you can see here.

Grow long sideburns ahead of time OR you can find fake sideburns to glue on at a Halloween store.

As with any vampire, you'll need Vampire teeth. You can find these on any store's Halloween aisle.

Wear a white or beige long-sleeved tee shirt. Another shirt option is a button down, dark collared top.

The bottoms for the costume could be olive or dark colored pants or jeans.

*Whichever attire you choose, the shirt should be tucked into the pants.

If it's cold where you'll need to wear a jacket as part of your Bill Compton costume, consider a dark brown or black leather jacket. If you don't already have one, you can more than likely find the perfect one at a thrift store for cheap.

Shoes for your costume can be dark loafers. Again, if you don't have any, look at a thrift store. Remember Bill Compton is 173 years old, so old shoes aren't a bad thing.

For Bill Compton's vampire face, put on some pale foundation or powder makeup. This will give you that "dead" look.

Using a black eye liner pen or pencil, trace the eyes very finely. This will bring the eyes out from behind all the pale foundation.

You might also consider a little bit of purple and red eye shadow on the eyelids and under the eyes. This will also help achieve a more vampire look but don't go overboard. Remember you're Bill Compton, not Dracula.

I can leave you with one last suggestion to complete the Bill Compton outfit. If you're going out with a group of people, ask them if they'd be interested in doing a True Blood group costume where you ALL wear character outfits. Or, ask your girlfriend or a friend if she'd go with you dressed as Bill Compton's love Sookie.
