Bill Gates Money

What to Do with 51 Billion Dollars

Robert Guinn
Bill Gates, is the richest man alive. We love his product, but we all know how insanely jealous of his money and power we are. As of 2005 the man was worth an estimated 51 billion dollars. That's a 51 with nine zero's attached to the end. If you wrote the number longhand it would be 51,000,000,000 and with the release of his new Windows Vista operating system that number is only going to get bigger and longer. Bill Gates has done exceptionally well, but you may ask yourself as I often do, what could 51 billion dollars buy?

A small country I guess. In Europe, one of the mid sized models I suppose. Not as large as Germany but defiantly bigger then Greece. Or perhaps a place in Australia, heck why not just buy the place, true it's a bit of a fixer upper, but I bet he could get a great deal, and it's large enough to fit his ego! He could rename the island, "Gates of Paradise" for an oasis feel or "Bill's Place" for something more casual, so the ladies will feel at home. What about this idea, if he splits the cash, he can buy a county like Iceland, for the winter months, and the whole Caribbean for summer vacation. The Caribbean's value has been lowered in the past few years due to hurricanes so Bill is sure to get an amazing deal.

With a cool 51 billion dollars you could eat off the McDonalds Dollar menu 49 billion times, 2 billion aside for taxes. Bill Gates could buy out Disney world, but he's not really a fun loving guy and is scared of mice. He could buy about 170,000 new family sized homes in Florida and 6,800,000,000 movie tickets at a local theater. Bill could buy 573,003,370,786 bags of M&M's giving him a grand total of 17,190,101,123,580 M&M's of various colors.

The shear thought about 51 billion dollars is mind boggling. How could one man have so much money? I mean 51 billion one dollar bills 5,100,000,000 ten dollar bills 510,000,000 hundred dollar bills 2,550,000,000 twenties 204,000,000,000 quarters 1,020,000,000,000 nickels and literally ton's of pennies. That amount of money his hard for the common people of this world to wrap their head around, I mean come on, Bill Gates could easily buy the world a coke, but all his money can't buy the ability to sing in perfect harmony, no matter how many lessons he pays for

I'm not saying that Bill Gates is a bad guy, just a little ego driven. I just think there are a lot of great things he could do with his money that he should do with his money but yet he does not. Anyways I can't really judge him, because I'm just a writer, and will never have a quarter of the amount of money Bill Gates does. Now if you'll excuse me I'm going to McDonalds, to get some dinner off the dollar menu.
