When it comes to Channel 2 Chicago News, few are as famous as Bill Kurtis. In the 1960's, he began a long career as a reporter and then an anchorman. One needs to make an impression on a news program in order to be remembered. Few have forgotten Bill Kurtis, who has gone on to make a name for himself in other areas of the TV business.

Bill Kurtis made it big in Chicago. He became a star, and part of his celebrity status was due to his most famous time with Channel 2 Chicago News. When Bill Curtis co-anchored with Walter Jacobson, beginning in the 1970's, they became the dynamic duo of Kurtis and Jacobson. They were the most famous anchor team in Chicago's history. People relied on Kurtis and Jacobson just like people relied on the late Walter Cronkite.

Bill Kurtis became so famous, he left Channel 2 Chicago News to become an anchorman for the more prestigious CBS Morning News. Many thought Kurtis would make a huge name for himself in New York. However, his love for Chicago brought him back to Channel 2 despite the fame of working for CBS Morning News.

The star of the A& E crime investigation shows "American Justice" and "Cold Case Files," Bill Kurtis is set to return to Channel 2 Chicago News, on September 22, with "Cold Case Minute" reports, as reported by Chicago Breaking News Center. In addition, WBBM Channel 2 will air syndicated reruns of "Cold Case Files" and also feature new "Cold Case Files" shows. "Cold Case Files" has been running since 1999. It investigates unsolved murders and has been highly praised by law enforcement. Bill Kurtis provides narration for the show with a compelling voice that draws you into the investigations.

Bill Kurtis on Channel 2 Chicago News will be a boost for a station that is struggling. Kurtis has many things going for him that are a plus for WBBM. For example, his soothing yet dramatic voice has long been loved by Chicagoans and viewers across the country and the world. In addition, Bill Kurtis is also widely known for his humorous AT&T commercials where he describes the joys of wireless Internet and that have featured such famous people as Michael Phelps. He always speaks his trademark line at the end of the commercials, "I'm Bill Kurtis, and I've just found (pause) the Internet."
