Bill Passes to Build Fence for Keeping Out the Immigrants

So our wonderful President George Bush is going to build a fence that will span 700 miles across the U.S and Mexican border. Well we should all sleep better tonight knowing that the illegal immigrants won't be able to come here anymore. Yeah right this has got to be the biggest waste of money, (well 1.2 billion for a down payment to be exact) which I have ever seen. Does George Bush really think a fence is going to solve all the problems with immigrants coming across the border? Does he plan on having guards every three feet or so to make sure the immigrants don't climb over the fence or use some type of tools to cut through it?

There are so many other issues that George Bush should be concentrating on yet he chooses to battle a problem that has been ongoing for decades,and won't be solved with a fence. Outgoing Mexican President Vicente Fox has called the fence shameful and has even went as far to compare it to the Berlin wall. There needs to be a better way of doing things when dealing with the immigrants from Mexico or any other country for that matter. These illegal immigrants keep our country running in some states. They do the low paying jobs that we don't want to do. You hear all the time they take away our jobs from Americans but if you ask an unemployed American to go work at a Fast food joint they say no they want better. Well OK that's fine then whom do you think will work there and serve you your Big-Mac?

If these so called illegal immigrants are so bad to our country then why is Canada doing all they can to get the immigrants to come live there. They are making the requirements to become a citizen a lot more lenient. They want the immigrants to come to their country and work and help populate Canada. If the Mexican immigrants are so bad then why do employers keep hiring them? Because they know the immigrants will work dirt-cheap and they are always going to be at work. Maybe we should be punishing the ones that keep hiring them. I always hear that immigrants pay no taxes well in all reality they do in a round about way. The employer knows they are illegal and pays them very cheap wages so in turn they have a higher profit and pay more taxes.

Or they withhold taxes anyway knowing that the immigrant will not complain and risk being deported back to Mexico. Some times an employer will not be aware the immigrant is in the country illegally and they will withhold taxes and pay them to the government. So the government still gets their money one way or another. Everyone always tries to say immigrants are criminals and this isn't usually the case. They come here to work and make a better life for their families. They don't cause trouble. They don't want to draw any attention to themselves and risk being deported. I really think George Bush needs to reconsider the fence to keep the Immigrants out and try to find a way to allow them to stay in our country. What's the old saying bad fences make bad neighbors? I think this will be the truth. It will be like a challenge now to the immigrants to see how many can over George Bush's fence. There are a whole lot of other issues that need more attention paid to them like education and poverty. Why doesn't Bush take the money he is going to spend on that ridiculous fence and send it to the families of all the fallen soldiers? At least then it would make a difference.
