Billy's Coffee Shop: Restaurant Review

In Fremont, Ohio, there are many restaurants, diners and other eating establishments. Several of these are generations old with the "Fremont" tradition of family owned and run. The Fremont Ohio focus is on great food and even better service. Today I'd like to tell you about one of my favorite Breakfast or Lunch places..Billy's Coffee Shop is located @ 413 W State St Fremont, Ohio. Y'all can call 'em @ 419-334-9169. They are open everyday but Tuesday from 5am till 2pm. Tuesday Pam and Joy take a day off in Fremont, Ohio.

This little place is a landmark in Fremont, Ohio. The owners, sisters Pam and Joy, began waiting table for their Dad when they were still in High School. Today Joy is the "Queen of the Griddle" and some days is so busy she can hardly take time to greet you with "HI Honey!" We all know there is always JOY in the kitchen @ Billy's in Fremont, Ohio.

Billy's in Fremont is known for huge portions. The fried Taters will easily fill a 9" round plate. Crisp and tasty and if you request a few onions they are just as good or better than Mom made.

My personal favorite breakfast is called a Loyd Lamar Bischoff. It is named for a loyal customer and Fremont icon from long ago. Two poached eggs served on a buttered and toasted English muffin with a side of the best sausage patty you've ever sunk a fork into. I enhance it with a splash of Tabasco and a huge mug of steaming hot coffee.

My Queen Goddess always starts with the sausage and then decided what to go with it. Our last adventure was pancakes with eggs layered in between and melted butter poured over top. The cakes were so big the Queen Goddess couldn't finish them.

Several weeks ago we decided to cut down...We split a sausage and cheese omelet and split an order of the fried Taters.... we both skipped lunch we were so full. Punky (my Daughter) will order the omelet and taters and a to go box. As the food arrives she slides half of everything into the box so she isn't tempted to over eat....Hold your fork the best is yet to come...

Y'all know of my love for all things sweet. (That's why I love the Queen Goddess so much) Joy makes the most incredible cheese cake I have ever tasted. I have been tempted to skip breakfast and just eat 2 pieces of cheese cake for Brunch. Yes you can have dessert with breakfast in Fremont, Ohio. Remember all the women on the Titanic that skipped dessert for another time...

If Y'all are in Fremont and hungry stop @ Billy's Coffee shop. If it's Tuesday Joy and Pam's Brother runs a little place on the Eastside of Fremont,Ohio called Whitey's Diner. Similar food but there's Mark in the kitchen instead of Joy. If we're not at Billy's on the day you come to Fremont ... Just tell 'em Bubba and Bonnie sent ya. Mizpah ;-}}>
