Main Review
Binary Game is a fun, addictive mathematical puzzle game that incorporates binary numbers in its simple game play. This game is quite popular with the geeks, nerds and math enthusiasts, but it will still cater to individuals who have no idea what binary numbers are.
Game play is fairly simple. A series of switches is provided and a goal number is presented to the player. The player will then have to create the binary representation of the goal number using the switches. The switches represent the following numbers in order 128, 64, 32, 16, 8, 4, 2 and 1 (a "1" is indicated when a switch is flipped on, and a "0" for when the switch is off). If the goal number provided is 20, the player will have to flip on the switches that correspond to 16 and 4. It is as simple as that. However, this does take a bit of mental math to get the switch combinations right.
One does not have to worry too much when first playing the game - a set of quick and easy to follow instructions is provided.
Several play modes are available:
Practice Mode, Challenge Mode, Speed Mode and Daily Mode.
Practice mode is particularly helpful as the game requires developing mental math skills.
Challenge Mode comes in several levels, with the time for each level decreasing as the level goes up.
Speed Mode requires players to solve fifteen problems as soon as possible.
Daily Mode is quite similar to Speed Mode but can only be played once a day with players competing with other individuals worldwide.
Game graphics and sound effects are just about average. The game itself, which thankfully is not prone to crashing at all, is simple but very well executed.
Pricing
Binary Game is available for $1.99 but with a sale price of $0.99. A FREE version of the game is also available.
Conclusion
Binary Game's graphics are average, as are the sound effects. Game controls are quite good and game play is a lot of fun. The game gets a rating of 3.5 out of 5.
