Binghamton, New York's Mexican Restaurants

Two Family-Owned Restaurants and One Chain Make Up the Mexican Restaurants Near Binghamton

Jessie Kay
The town of Binghamton, New York, is known as the "Carousel Capitol of the World." Six restored carousels are scattered around the city, offering visitors and residents free rides. After spending a day riding carousels and exploring the city, a hearty Mexican meal might be just what you're craving.

Margarita's Mexican Grill

As the only authentic Mexican restaurant in Binghamton's city limits, Margarita's Mexican Grill doesn't disappoint. This family-owned restaurant has been in business for decades and its staff has three generations of Mexican cooking experience. Standard Mexican favorites make up the menu including meat and cheese enchiladas, fajitas, chile verde, and barbacoa. All entrees are served with tortilla chips, beans and rice. A lunch menu is available with smaller-sized platters. All menu items are made with fresh ingredients--nothing is canned or frozen. This restaurant is located at 1166 Upper Front Street in Binghamton, NY 13905. Their phone number is 607-772-0722.

Delgado's Cafe

Located in neighboring Johnson City, Delgado's Cafe is a family-owned Mexican restaurant. Its chef and co-owner began his culinary career in a Las Vegas Mexican restaurant and took what he learned to start Delgado's Cafe. Traditional Mexican dishes make up the menu and include taco salads, green chile burritos and enchiladas. Delgado's Cafe also serves American food, including chicken wings and burgers. A separate bar area is available serving the full menu and offering happy hour specials, video games and darts. Delgado's Cafe is located at 119 Harry L Drive in Johnson City, NY 13790. Call the restaurant at 607-798-7306.

Moe's Southwest Grill

Moe's Southwest Grill promises freshly prepared Mexican fare. Moe's Southwest Grill has several locations throughout the United States, with one location in nearby Vestal, New York. Although this is a Mexican restaurant, traditional Mexican music cannot be heard over the restaurant's sound system. Instead, only music by dead musicians pumps through the speakers. All menu items are cleverly named: the "Homewrecker" burrito is a traditional burrito stuffed with beans, rice and lettuce, the "Personal Trainer" is a vegetarian taco salad, and the "Billy Barou" is a nacho platter. All meals include chips and salsa. Moe's Southwest Grill also offers catering services. Find this restaurant at 3612 Vestal Parkway East in Vestal, NY 13850. Call them at 607-729-6100.
