Have you ever been to a Bingo hall and had the pleasure of seeing your numbers come up on the screen and your line is complete. I go to Bingo all the time, I go for several reasons, it gets me out of the house, I can complain to the cards and the cards cannot complain back at me, I don't have to yell at anyone at home, I relieve some built up tension, I socialize with my friends, and I can win some money, which is always a plus.
I enjoy going to play bingo, I was almost born in a bingo hall so it is in my blood. My mother, God Rest Her Soul, was an advent bingo player, she talked my father into taking her to the bingo hall when she was nine months pregnant, at the one that they went to the ladies could play bingo in the hall while their husbands watched a game on television and drank some beer in the bar that was attached. Well Mom was winning, when her water broke, she refused to leave, she stayed until the end of the session, won the last game of the evening which paid $200.00 for a full card in 1951 which was a lot of money, she told my father as he went into gather her up that they were not going home they had to go to a hospital, I was born a few hours later. So I guess you could say it is in my blood.
I love going to Bingo, when I was younger I worked in a Bingo hall as my second job, I made really decent money in tips at least $60-$100 per night depending upon the crowd it was good money. I would take my Mom and son with me, we would pack up a bunch of toys for him to play with under the table, and a sleeping bad that he would curl up in if he got tired, Mom would play bingo and I would usher, Mom got the opportunity to be where she wanted to be and I was not only earning some extra money I had an eye on both of them while my husband worked 3-11/shift. It worked out good for us.
I have played Bingo since I could count, the first number I learned where 1-75 and I didn't think there were numbers past 75 when I entered kindergarten. It was news to me,.
Anyway since I retired, I get to go at least three times a week, I have a special table I like to play at, I get 36 hard cards to play and I play the computer along with my games. I get to watch the new comers who come in for the first time, and the amazement on their faces when they see the number that they need flash across the screen, it is like What? Is that my number? What do I do now? Then they yell BINGO and the usher reads off their number and there is this smile of joy flashing across their face as the usher brings them their money and they generously tip the usher for his or efforts. It is fun. Especially when you win......
