Biography of Crash Holly

Michael John Lockwood, better known to wrestling fans by the name Crash Holly, was born on August 25, 1971. Crash made his wrestling debut in 1989 for a company named Bay Area Wrestling. During that time, he went by the alias Johnny Pearson. Two years after leaving BAW, Crash moved to All Pro Wrestling, also known as APW, and began competing as "The Leprechaun" Erin O'Grady.

Soon after that, Crash was contacted by ECW and competed under the name The Green Ghost. In 1999, Crash made his debut in WWE as the storyline cousin of Hardcore Holly. Before long, Crash captured the WWE Hardcore Championship and became the first Superstar to compete under the 24/7 rule. Soon after winning the title, Crash lost a match under the 24/7 rule.

He would go on to win the European, Light Heavyweight and Tag Team Championships soon after losing the Hardcore Championship. In 2000, his onscreen cousin Molly Holly debuted in WWE. During a feud with the Dudley Boyz, Molly and Spike Dudley had a Romeo and Juliet-esque relationship. The Dudleys and the Hollys would continue feuding for the next couple of months.

After that, Crash and Hardcore Holly were separated due to the brand split between Raw and SmackDown! Crash was drafted to Raw while Hardcore was drafted to SmackDown! Soon after the draft, Crash was reunited with his cousin when he jumped to SmackDown! Shortly after being reunited with his cousin, Hardcore Holly was injured and sidelined for several months.

Crash went on to join Matt Hardy's Mattitude stable as Shannon Moore's follower, who was known as a "Moore-on," but was unable to relive any past success which resulted in his release some time in July of 2003.

After leaving WWE, Crash moved to TNA, where he wrestled under the name Mad Mikey, and joined some of his friends at Pro Wrestling Iron, which is an off-shoot of the company Crash used to work for, All Pro Wrestling, until his death in November.

On November 6, 2003, Crash Holly choked to death on his own vomit after ingesting 90 painkiller pills while at the home of fellow wrestler Steven Richards. He was 32 years old. After his death, his onscreen cousin Molly wrote an autobiography entitled Nora Greenwald: Shootin' the Crap and a portion of the proceeds went into the education fund for Crash's daughter.
