In 1994 Usher Raymond released his first album with the help of producer P.Diddy. His first single was "Thank You" which reached gold status in the industry. With that exposure Usher was starting to get approached with major companies for different projects, such as Coca-Cola in 1995 where he recorded a national holiday jingle for their company. In 1997 graduating high school Usher released his sophmore album"My Way". With this album he want to show his fans how he was not that 14 year old teen anymore but a man so Usher co-wrote six of the nine songs also showing his songwriting abilities. The albums first single "You make me wanna" became such a hit nationwide that it topped the R&B charts for 11 straight weeks and eventually went double platinum, along with the follow up singles "My Way" and "Nice and Slow" which also went platinum.
As he was reaching his Star status he decided to wet his feet in Hollywood. Appearing in The Faculty, Light It up, She's all that,texas Rangers,Soul Food and In The Mix, along with appearing on several t.v. shows. Usher returned at the end of 2000 with his third albub 8701 which ultimately moved him from being a teen pop star to a sultry R&B singer. In the begainning of 2004 Usher released his first single "Yeah" from his Up and coming album Confessions. The fast paced crunk music bacame a radio and club favorite instantly that by the time his album hit the stores the single had hit the top of the Billboard charts. The album alone won the Grammy for Best Contemporary R&B album 2004 as for his single it took home the best rap/singing collaboration award. This of course not being the only award to show his achievements Usher all in all has won 2 grammy awards, 3 soul train music awards, BET awards, Nickelodeon Kids Choice Award, 2 teen choice awards, 3 Billboard Music awards, 3 R&B Hip-Hop conference awards, 3 ASCAP awards, a Blockbuster Music Awards and this is only naming a few for their are several international awards he has achieved over the years as well.
Now with the year 2007 Usher is a father and husband to be marrying Tameka his former friend and hair stylist for seven years. Now the 38 year old stylist who already has three children-divorced will be having Usher Raymonds baby. Besides becoming a family man Usher is also releasing his 5th album. So there are big things ahead for this 28 year old R7B singer, as if he hasn't accomplished enough his drive will only lead him to bigger and greater things.
