Biography of X Games Athlete Pierre Luc Gagnon

Pierre Luc Gagnon was born on May 2, 1980 in Montreal, Canada. On his eighth birthday, Pierre was given his first skateboard as a birthday present.

Since Pierre Luc Gagnon's family had their own skatepark, Pierre's father helped him learn how to skate. He began entering local competitions at a young age where he consistently finished at the top.

He has become one of the world's top vert skateboarders. He is now a consistent winner of many of the world's top professional skateboarding competitions.

Although he loves to try to invent new tricks and try to outdo his competition, he is also known as one of the most technical skateboarders in the world. His mastery of the more basic tricks is what allows him to pursue the invention of newer tricks.

Pierre Luc Gagnon's signature trick is the 540 nollie heel flip, which he has perfected over the years. As a result of his combination of perfection of old tricks and the desire to attempt newer difficult tricks, Pierre Luc Gagnon has won some of skateboarding's top honors.

Over the years, Pierre has had several very impressive results at competitions. At the 2002 X Games, he won two gold medals. He won gold in the Vert and Best Trick competitions. At X Games X, he also won three silver medals.

Pierre Luc Gagnon has left his Canadian birthplace and currently lives in Encinitas, California. The area is home to many of the world's top skateboarders and skateboarding competitions including the X Games.
