Bionaturae Organic 100% Durum Semolina Capellini Pasta

I Don't Normally Care for Thin Pasta but I Really Enjoyed This Organic Capellini Pasta

I was completely unfamiliar with what the variety of pasta capellini was. Normally when I get pasta I get spaghetti and the only other time that I hear such terms as linguine or capellini is if I am watching some fancy cooking show. When a sale that had different varieties of pastas costing about two and half dollars came to my attention I decided to give some capellini pasta a try. The sale was for Bionaturae pastas and I chose to get a bag of their Organic 100% Durum Semolina Capellini Pasta and in addition I also got some of their Organic Spaghetti and Organic Linguine on the same shopping trip. The organic capellini pasta was the last one that I tried. Here is what I thought about it.

The Bionaturae Organic 100% Durum Semolina Capellini Pasta had thinner noodles than spaghetti, similar to angel hair pasta except I believe that it was thicker than your average angel hair pasta though if only by a fraction. From what I understand though angel hair and capellini pasta are interchangeable terms. I have never really been a big fan of angel hair pasta personally but when I bought the capellini pasta I was unaware of how thin it was going to be. I was not all
that disappointed as it wasn't as though I couldn't have eaten thin pasta noodles or anything. I made the capellini preparing for an dinner for angel hair pasta.

To my surprise I actually really enjoyed the Bionaturae Organic 100% Durum Semolina Capellini Pasta even though the noodles were on the thin side. The test was excellent and I didn't mind the texture like I thought that I would. I was very pleased and the pasta only took three minutes to cook up. Not only had I learned what capellini pasta was but I didn't feel as though I had wasted any money or anything. Two and half dollars can really be a lot of money for a pound organic pasta and if I had disliked it a lot I would have regretted making the pasta. The next time that I made this capellini pasta I made it with some organic whole wheat spaghetti. I thought that this made a good blend because the texture of the whole wheat spaghetti was toned down by the capellini pasta.

In addition to tasting good the Bionaturae Organic 100% Durum Semolina Capellini Pasta was also very healthy for you. I have been making a point to look at the amount of protein and calcium that are in the pastas that I eat. In the case of the this capellini pasta that is made of organic wheat durum semolina there was seven grams of protein for two ounces of pasta and the minerals and vitamins section of the nutrition facts listed calcium with two percent, in addition it also list iron with six percent. I was pleased by this as well as the other nutrition facts. There is two hundred calories with ten calories from fat in every serving size of two ounces as well as two grams of both fiber and sugars and forty one grams of carbohydrates.

While I was very pleased about the cooking time of this pasta as well as its nutrition facts I can't say that it is my favorite variety of pasta but I am glad I tried the Bionaturae Organic 100% Durum Semolina Capellini Pasta. I would recommend for anyone to give this pasta a try as long as they like angel hair pasta. I don't know how often I will be getting this pasta but I can see myself getting other varieties of pasta by the Bionaturae brand for sure.
